Sewing Resources and Information

The best way I have found to get parts for a 15-91 is to simply buy another!!! I usually pick them up for $20-$40, which ends up being way cheaper than buying parts offline after shipping and tax.

Need some help, I bought a Singer 15-91 (I think) has the potted motor. Wires and connectors hanging loose. Looks like someone started to rewire it. I know I am missing a screw that holds the 3 wire plug deal to the machine. Also looks like there are thumb screws that hold the terminal ends to the plastic connector deal that are missing. Anyone have pics , part numbers or any information where I can get these items? I don’t think I have privileges to post pics on here. Feel free to message me and I can text pics of what I have.

Does anybody know where I can pick up some Tera 20 (or 15) thread? I bought some on Etsy a while ago and now I can't find it anywhere. It's the best thread I've used and I much prefer the heavier Tera thread for some projects. Thanks!

Guterman Tera 20 is available on eBay right now, if anyone is still searching.

I’m trying to find Tera 15. Let me know if you have a source.

Wawak.com has a large selection of Gutermann thread. I buy there all the time.

What you guys think of this:
I have a whole spool of it.

What are you wanting to use it on?

I tried using that in my Juki and I had issues with it. I switched out needles. Tried different sizes and types of needles. I just couldn't get it to feed like the normal threads I use. I finally gave up on it.

I’m looking to just get started by making some hys straps. Wife says her machine would not be able to handle the webbing. I found this singer on FB. The lady selling also doesn’t think it would work. She doesn’t have a model number. Was hoping someone might be able to tell me if this would be a good option and for a decent price. She’s looking to get $80. So the wife saw me looking up sewing stuff and my thread purchase at sailrite. She says, first it was “accessories” for hunting and NOW it’s “accessories” for sewing?!

$80 is high. You can get machines that can handle webbing and saddle material way cheaper.

I typically only buy one if its under $30 anymore. I prefer Singer 15-91s.

Where are you located?

Where is the best place to source the materials anymore? I would like to build a custom drop leg pack for steps. Will need pouch material, strapping, and buckles/attachment methods (g hooks)

For webbing I use Strapworks or Sailrite. Rockywoods has a good selection of fabrics and Mil-spec Monkey has lots of hardware.

Thanks, I hated to ask since its all over the place but after 1 hour of looking at different websites, I need a 1 stop shop kinda place. Milspec monkey seemed like a cluster of a website

Looking for some advice on a kenmore ultra stitch 6. I did a web search including the word webbing and didn’t come up with much

No help here but thank you for bumping this thread I missed it.

Edit: I googled your machine with the word gears and got back some results that looked plastic. May not be heavy duty enough if that's true, but I don't really know what I'm talking about, hopefully one of the real sewing gurus on here can help you.

Take it for what it's worth, but the below reddit thread mentions it having plastic gears. Possibly the same site @thedutchtouch found. Depending what you are wanting, it may work. But if you are wanting to build a saddle or something with numerous layers I'd hold out for something with metal gears.
