Shikar, LWCG, or Beast Sticks?

Thanks for all the feedback guys - glad I didn't pull the trigger on the LWCG doubles. Looks like it will be Shikars or Mini Beast Sticks. The Tethrd Ones look interesting too, but I know they probably won't be available for a little while. My goal is to get down to 2 sticks and use some combination of aiders - either versa or 2 step to get to 14-16 feet...I usually don't hunt much higher.

How do the LWCG double steps do with an amsteel daisy chain?
Fine......I use the double steps with a 2 step BWM aider and I love the setup. I have had beast sticks, shikars, LWCG minis, and LWCG doubles. I kept the doubles. The beast sticks are nice. The shikars had too much wobble IMO. The minis were nice but I like a double step. The double steps are awesome. I run them with daisy chain and a 2 step aider. I have never had an issue with them kicking out. I have had them on all types of trees. Just make sure the stick is properly set before you climb up. I also run the .5 and the doubles pair up nicely with it. I don't understand the lack of love for the LWCG doubles on this site. I love them. Hope this helps.

bad... very bad... the button is too high. You don’t have them tight on the tree via cam strap or buckle less. They will kick out pretty easy and come unset. I highly recommend against using daisy chains as daisy chains on LWCG doublesteps.

This was not my experience at all. I did a modified aerial assault method with these and the daisy chains. After I wrap it once around the button and through a daisy chain loop, I loop it to the button. This has gotten them real tight to the tree. I really like the LWCG doublesteps. Only issue was that they took a lot of stealth stripping to get the ting sound out of them.

Like I said I don’t recommend using daisy chains as daisy chains. That truckers hitch method does work as well as cam straps... given you file the sharp edges on the sticks.
