I ended up with three mini shikars for Christmas as a surprise gift. I see the one stick method but not really liking that idea. Does anyone climb with these and how high can u get with four or five of them? I was wanting the full length 17in shikars but I really like these now that I have my hands on them. Might buy a couple more and get 17in aiders thanks J

I watched a guys setup with one stick with a moveable aider he was getting close to 6 ft off one stick with movable aider. He had his system right for himself It was really neat to see him climb With it.

I have some micro c1s from timber ninja coming soon. They are 10” sticks. I’ll be climbing with a moveable 3 step aider from backcountry mobile gear. I’m anticipating at least 20 feet w the four sticks. Also rappelling down as I think descending with a multi step aider could get a little dicey.

I had 4 until I sold 3 and just kept 1 for one-sticking.

Before I sold them I tried knaider and swaider which worked great. Already used to it with WE steps.

Another was a versa aider. Was decent but couldn’t get as high.

I tried one of the wire aiders to see if I liked it and wasn’t a fan.

Also, I tried a moveable 2 step amsteel aider.

If I didn’t go to the one sticking I would of stuck with the knaider swaider. I’m 5’ 9” and could get 6’ per stick.

I just clipped straight to the step. Just make sure to seat the stick good and try to connect as close to center as is comfortable. That will prevent it from kicking out slightly.

If I wouldn’t have gone to 1-sticking I would have used the minis over the WE steps. Faster to set and you have more surface area to stand on. I have not put a WE step on a tree this year. Been 1-stick or SRT each climb this year.

I’m planning on picking up 2, maybe a 3rd and will go with a 3 step amsteel aider if I go with 2 or a 2 step aider if I go with 3 mini sticks. I seldom go higher than 12-15 feet as it is. With proper spacing on a 3 step aider, I should be able to get to that height with just 2 minis.

I made the post above on Tuesday with plans of waiting until the next sale and bam! They announced a New Years 15% off sale today. I’ll be ordering 3 minis in the morning/afternoon depending on the hangover!

That’s wise to wait! You don’t want to accidentally make that 3 a 30!

Have had a few beverages, but good enough to have just ordered 3 mini’s. Only problem is I hit order and realized I didn’t add any attachment method. I have some spare lone wolf straps or I can use my amsteel from hawk heliums

I have 5 mini sticks. All with Out on a Limb's 3 step aider; which fit perfectly. I can get just over 5 ft put step and aider. This is a dream of a setup. Small/ compact, little weight, and able to climb high.
