Just got mine in about 2 weeks ago and have been practicing with it. However, I feel a little wobbly/unstable when moving around to my strong side for a top shot. I’m trying to drive that lead knee into the tree and maneuver with the back leg to get my angle around the tree but feels like I may slip. Am I missing something? Tether height, bridge length etc?

Are you right or left handed? If the tree you are facing is at 12 0'clock what's the problem shot for you, at 9 -11? I might have some suggestions but need to know these answers first.

Right handed, seems when I get to 10-12 o’clock around tree I feel unstable. I’ve put up a screw in step on that strong side for now but would like to not have to use it.

I'll try to send pic of what I do with my feet that provides that stability. It's not easy to explain so hopefully a pic will show it better. It'll be little later today before I can send it.

I set my platform close to the top step on my stick to that side of the tree. I can shoot that 12 oclock shot from the platform but I find it nice to step out on to the top step of stick. it actually can be up to 6"s lower that the platform and works well for me. Shawn

bigcat93: The attached pic shows something that works well for me on rotation to strong side (I'm right-handed too) for shots from 10 thru even 1 and 2 o'clock with correct tether length and tree size. This is something that's much easier to show someone than explain in writing, but here goes. First, for general reference my tether is usually eye to just above head height. I run a short bridge length (webbing). My tether is typically adjusted where I have around a 45 degree knee bend. As with any shot from 10-12, you need to pre-rotate your body to left so there's more bridge on right vs left side to gain proper form position. Take your leg and position it like you are crossing your legs and let the Achilles tendon part (just above right heel) rest just above your knee. Your left leg should be slightly bent as shown. Once in this position you keep your left leg rigid and as you rotate to your left your right foot is used as a brake to control the movement. As you reach your desired shooting position you apply more pressure with the ball of your right foot to slow or stop the rotation. In short, you do the reverse to rotate back to 12 position. Your left leg stays rigid and your right foot works like a lever or brake. Once you get the hang of this it'll become very smooth and easy to do and you won't need a step on the left side of platform. Obviously when starting this your left foot will need to be in proper position on far left side of platform so as you rotate you remain clear of the tree and don't place your left leg in a weird position to get out of balance. Hope this helps.

You did the cam down trick? Angle up platform, step on top to jam it all the way down, step on platform to cam it down.

Guys, I think if u look at original post from bigcat93 I don't think platform stability is the issue, but instead he feels unstable when rotating around for shots from 10-12 o'clock.
