Short billed baseball cap

Thanks for the replies. For winter/colder times I have the first lite brimmed beanie but I want something really lightweight for elk season when it’s hot midday and I’m covering a lot of ground. Stalker stick bows has a neat one I found today I may go with but still looking.

I have the archery past cap, it’s pretty good for the price.
I think I prefer any 5 panel runner / bike cap that you can flip the brim on like the one below. Or the OR above
I have a “ run amok “ one from this brand and if I didn’t sweat it up running I’d use this as my dedicated warm weather hat.
Plus Lemmy was bad a$s and my wife and kids hate when I wear it
What’s the material like on that archery past cap?
I think what I’m looking for is more of a runner cap as well

I've tried a few short bill style baseball hats but with my anchor point I still get string interference and most bills on baseball style hats are too stiff to fold out of the way. I just bought this Boonie hat a couple weeks ago. I like it so far, it's light and folds up into itself. The bill is soft enough to push out of the way when my string contacts it without knocking the hat off of my head.

For a boonie hat I really like my Tilley T3 in olive, made in Canada. I usually have the sides snapped up. Be aware on the Tilley website, some of their stuff is made in China. The Olive T3 says made in China, though the picture of the tag says Canada and mine was made in Canada, might be worth asking.

Only way to fly is a short brimmed boonie. Got 2 news one, a large and a freakin ginormous so I can wear a beenie under it when needed. ;)

Amazon delivers!!!
I've never even heard of a Croogo style hat, until I did a search for a soft brim hat and this is what showed up on an Amazon search. I like it better than I thought and for $17.50, I may order another one. The bill folds up out of the way of my bow string and it doesn't bind, very comfortable and light weight too. :) Offered in 5 different colors.

Yep. Welding cap works well. And a plus is that the brim can be flipped up out off the way for that last half hour after the sun goes behind the treeline. I did that the past 2 years.

I'm going with a 1.5" fedora this year. Been practicing with it and a mosquito net. The short brim all the way around keeps the mosquito net off my face and neck. It's an amazing combo.

PICS!!

I'm a Fedora-style hat fanboy. I love the round brims & how they shade your whole head. Plus, that's the hat that Papa Bear always wore! I have no problems with the brims-they just fold up out of the way on the draw.

I use a Tilley Airflo for early season, & once things cool off, one of my Cabela's wool crushers. For rainy days I have an Outback Trading Co. oilskin crusher.

Back in the day, when I couldn't afford those, I used the good 'ol military issue boonies.
