Currently shooting Elite Ritual 35.
No complaints with it.

Is there a newer Elite you would consider a true “upgrade”. Obviously the newer bows have SET, but is there really a big difference?
Have a little bit of money to play with, but not sure the new stuff is worth it?
I see some new old stock Elites going for 650.00-700.00 on some close out sites.
Biggest issues are I have a 30.75” draw, and prefer a slightly longer ATA.
The only other brand I’m interested in is Bowtech, but most of their bows seem short in ATA.

Honestly I'd try to go shoot some of the new stuff to see if you like anything about them. If you like your bow just fine and have no complaints, I wouldn't upgrade just for SET. It was marketed as a "fix-all" but that's just not the case. It's great for fine tuning, but most end up needing shimming anyways for larger adjustments.

No! That's the most honest answer you're going to get. :)

I have an Elite Ritual 30 and it's 3 years old. I had considered purchasing a newer model in a longer axle length, but why? What's the newer and more expensive bow going to do? Answer: Nothing that the current model isn't already doing. I've won some 3D shoots with it and killed several deer. I can't ask any more out of this bow.

Every year, the bow manufacturers are coming out with new features and they're still chasing the "holy grail" of speed. New features are fine, but speed is a number that they can boast about for a selling point. If that's what a person wants, then you're gonna have to pay for it. I see it at the 3D shoots all the time....guys paying top dollar to have the newest, latest and greatest. o_O Why....other than bragging rights? What's that getting you, besides less money in your pockets and a bow who's resale is going to be less than half of what you paid, in a year.

Buying a new bow every 5 or more years makes more sense, if you want to see some serious improvements. ;)

I appreciate that!
But I’m more of a 50-60lb guy at this point.

I appreciate good solid feedback.

Pretty much what I had figured. I don’t run out and buy a bunch of new stuff each year.
The only other aspect is I don’t go back to work a month, so I need something to “play with” to occupy myself.
But your reasons are exactly why I’m not in the “new year new bow” crowd. Nothing looks like a huge leap forward.

My ethos is great, SET is cool. But I wish it had the upgrades the Exalt 35 got with pic mount opportunities and integrated options.

Bought a new Bowtech Solution 2 years ago. ONLY reason was shoulder issues, as it drew a little smoother than my other bows. My other 2 main bows are 9 and 10 years old. One shoots as well, one shoots better than the Bowtech. Both have stiffer draws though. Working on the shoulders so I can go back to the old bows.

I appreciate that!

Dropping draw weight is a smart move. ;) I dropped my draw weight over 30 years ago and have no regrets. The bow cam and limb designs are far more efficient than they have ever been in years past.

I have my Elite Ritual 30 set at 57# at my 29" DL. I've also started shooting heavier arrows with higher FOC. This setup is easier to tune for perfect arrow flight for both field tips and broadheads to hit at the same P.O.I. Then there's the increased penetration that has made the deer fall within sight. Love it. Gold Tip Hunter XT 300 at 27", 100 gr. brass insert, 150 gr. tip weight and 3" feathers for a TAW of 525 and 22% FOC.

I wish you continued success with your Elite Ritual 35. :)

Take your bow to the shop and shoot it next to the new bows. Is it worth it? Only you really know. Shoot them all. Elite, Hoyt, Mathews, PSE or whatever else you can. You maybe surprised or you may just like what you have.

There is just no end to it.

For example, I got rid of the rx8 creaky bow for a Lift 33.
Now Mathews has cam adjusters like bowtech.

I would not mind having them but I think I’ll be just fine..

Good luck!
