Single sticking with LWCG

Has anyone tried one sticking with a LWCG double step stick. I’m wondering what attachment method would be easier to disengage without the use of a cam cleat. Has anyone tried using the ears on the stick like a Boat cleat similar to the tethrd sticks? Sorry if this is kind of rambling.
 
I don’t know about one-sticking with them, but if I had LWCG double step sticks, this is how I would attach to the tree, except just a single line of Amsteel, no need for the extra weight of a daisy chain as he mentions.
