For those who are using the Sitka Fanatic bibs and jacket...

How do those pieces run as far as sizing, slightly smaller, bigger or dead on? I'm about to treat myself to an early Xmas surprise but am not sure what size to order. I have First Lite gear that I ordered in medium and they fit perfectly for my frame ,5'10" 165lbs thin athletic build, but those are early to mid season items. I want the Fanatic stuff for the late season when it's damp and cold and the highs for the day might be 30*. According to the Sitka sizing chart I'm on the upper end of medium. Is there enough room to add a layer or two underneath it or should I get the large? My concern with going bigger is that it would be too big and bulky and would require layering to fill the space.

Let me hear you thoughts and experience with Sitka, air it out.

I wear large, tried on a large, bought a large….can still get a bulky sweatshirt on under it

Sitka’s stuff fits me good but different. I wear large in 90% of clothes but Sitka I wear xl. Large in Sitka for me is way to tight and no real possibility of laying underneath. I’d definitely recommend finding a store that has it. Also scheels has their Sitka stuff on sale rn. Including the fanatic series I believe.
Side note if u have ever worn first lite. Large is first lite is perfect for me. I have the fanatic jack and bibs both in xl. They are so worth it! I’m 5’10ish around 215lbs

Seems true to size. I’m 5’11”, 195. 33 waist. Large bibs were perfect. I maybe could have done a large jacket but went XL and it’s fine with thin layers but can accommodate a pretty heavy layer too.

I would think med bibs and large tip would work for you, would probably be ok with a medium top also.

You don’t have a dealer nearby to try on first, or friends?

I received an email from Scheels stating their Sitka stuff is on sale so that's what making me pull the trigger asap. I haven't found a local shop that sells Sitka but I honestly haven't looked too hard either. No one I know that hunts uses Sitka or First Lite, they use box store clothing and they're content to complain it's too cold to hunt and stay at home. Not me!! lol

5’10” 175 lbs and Large fits me like a glove. It’s designed in a more athletic way so the forearms are tighter and jacket is slimmer

best to find a store and try it all on if you can

Amazing what you can find on the interweb, just located a dealer about 45 miles south of me so I'll make a pit stop there on my way to work tomorrow and try on a few pieces to see what fits the best. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone thinks the large size would be good for my measurements. Guess I'll know for sure tomorrow. Will keep you posted.

Thanks for the input guys, really appreciate it.

Do you happen to be military, police, or a fireman?

I had a medium fanatic, but could only get a hoodie on underneath it and it felt weird on the one side… maybe because of the offset zipper? I sent it back for a large. If I receive it anytime soon I’ll give you an update.

Just some advice. I found the women’s fanatic bibs for literally half the price of new. With tags still on it. Fits perfect. I cross referenced the men’s size in inches and womens. Had to move up two sizes. What’s nice about Sitka is they don’t litter the camo with pink and stupid stuff like that. They are indistinguishable from the men’s.

The crotch is much different. I got my wife some of the womens and they are different.

Not sure, I don’t have the newest model, I have the 2-3 year old one with the full fleece that every burr in the woods attaches too. It was the same as my dads, Or close enough I couldn’t tell a difference.

Yea I pack my fanatic jack and bibs in. Good point as they do attract burrs. Thought I’d mention that in case that’s a problem. Since their so expensive

I can assure the current models are different between the mens and womens. The zipper on the womens goes down the front and end at about your taint area and is uncomfortable for the male anatomy.

Not worried about picking up burrs where I hunt but will most likely be packing in this stuff in anyway, especially with all the reviews I've seen stating this set will make you overheat if walking any distance.

So I tried on the jacket and large was the better fit. It was a touch big with just a tee shirt on but was perfect when I had my Carhartt sweatshirt on which would be about the bulk of a couple of merino base layers. The medium was a touch snug around the upper back and shoulders when I moved around with just a tee shirt and adding anymore layers would have restricted my movements.

The store only had the large bibs in stock so I slide them over my jeans and it felt slightly big, especially around the waist. Not terribly big and definitely doable if I had no choice but without a medium to compare feel left me unsure.

I asked the store owner if he would match the price of Scheel's and he said he'd only do it with the jacket (his store price was $369.99) but not the bibs because he was selling them for $449.99. I gave him a couple of chances to earn my business but he wouldn't do it so I said thank you anyway and wished him a happy holiday.

I ordered a large jacket and both a medium and a large bib and plan to return the one that doesn't fit the best.
