Slings and MORE from Treehopper

Allegheny Tom do you have any pics for the new Ameristep style ROS, and how they will stack together from their wings?
Not the best pics, but its what Mark had available to send me.
He had the results of the new test. They changed a few things in the formula and mold gate and they held at over 1,000 pounds!! That is impressive.

Is there no belt that keeps the sling attached around your waist? My old Anderson did. I'd sure like to see some better pictures of it.
Yes there is a belt and its very similar to the Anderson style belt. John said earlier...its amazing how "right" the original Anderson was. I mostly agree with that, but I was not crazy about the belt. But Ive come to realize that sometimes just a minor tweak can make all the difference in a component.
Mark thinks he has improved the Anderson belt. I hope so. I will let you know when I get mine.
I am confident that this is not a major issue. This is a new, improved version of a tried and true product. Will there be anything that still needs tweaked?? Maybe. But if so, it will be minor and it will be easy.
FWIW, I goofed around a little with a "basement version" of a belt...a piece of shock cord worked well. But Im reserving final judgement and review until I get mine. How long does it take to ship from Fla to Pa? That's how long until I have the final one in hand. He shipped to me today (I think).

I am sold, will call to place order soon! Also might pickup those bolt pedals to try out.

The reason the belt wasn't attached in my earlier pic was that it just didn't photograph very well. I will see if I can make a better pic to post. But it will still be a prototype pic...not the final one. The concept will be the same, though.

Ok...this is a belt on one of the earliest prototypes...plates are coated on the "real" ones.
This is exactly like an Anderson belt. Its basically free standing, meaning it is not actually attached (or sewn) to the sling.
For guys that have not see an Anderson...it had very narrow oval rings instead of these plates. The plates accommodate a webbing bridge and make the bridge adjustable.
This belt design is retained by tri slides that slip thru those plates. Pull the tag ends to adjust tightness and slip the tri slide back thru the plate if you want the belt to open.
Having the belt attach thru those plates is essential because it pulls the entire construction of the support webbing (the stuff that you sit in) tight. We tried having the belt attach just to the upper section and that concept allowed the bottom section to sag while walking.

Here is the pile of crap in my basement. All prototypes that are going back to Mark next week.
This has been a long haul, and just to remind the moderators and vendors...I'm getting nothing out of this.
Ok, maybe I am. I get to give input on exactly how I would like gear...its almost like custom made stuff for me.
But it aint free. I pay the same price as you guys.

Interested in how the belt fits on a small individual like myself. I have an Anderson and the belt is essentially the same as how this one is set up...and here's the issue I am having. Just as you stated, the belt will tighten everything you sit in, but to the point it's uncomfortable. Only when I unattach the belt does the sling open up to it's "natural" position and relieve the pressure created by the belt. Almost as if the sling is too long and wraps around my hips too far. Are the TH slings based on the same size as the Anderson?Screenshot_20191213-170751_Gallery.jpg

Hey moderators...
Is it (way) past time for this topic to be discussed over on the product review sub forum?
Seems to me that this is a hot topic and continuously gets bumped to the top. Probably not fair to other announcements.
Should we move it or continue over there?
