My son was having a hard time concentrating last night. He's 4 and was having a ADHA bout. I asked him if he wanted to go out with my saddle and climb a tree. He sure did. I had a hard time getting him out of my saddle and back inside as it was getting dark. One question I got before he got out of the tree was.... "Dad, can you make me one my size? " Ummm I can sure try. So after a few measurements and an hour at the "gear fabrication station" my 30 pound 4 year old has his own saddle. The smile on his face was totally worth it. It comes complete with tether and soon to be made dump pouch. He got to hang in it today.

Nice work! My son seen it this morning and he wants one now. Time to fire up the machine. Where did you measure him at hip to hip? What about the height of the the saddle?

I just held the continous loop of webbing above his tailbone, and right under but cheeks. And so the loops were touching under his belly button. Mesh is the height is the webbing while he was holding it pinched in front of himself and went just in front of his hip on each side. I can get some real measurements if you'd like

Gotcha, my son is a little bigger but it would probably still work for him. If you have time to get some measurements that’d be great, if not it think I got how you measured it.
Thanks

My method was pretty rough. No doubt. I held everything togther with a clip, had him hold it pinched in the front where the loops would be.

However rough it was it turned out great.
