I can't stand to have a watch that needs constant charging. The Garmin Instinct line is great for that. My 2x gets used hard and I charge it maybe once a month or so. Hoping the solar will lessen that more in the summer. Winter coats in WI= not much sun on the watch!

we used to always say big watch small.. c*ck…….
"used to"? guess that means you realized it was fake news so you no longer say it? :sunglasses:

I don't wear it in the shower anyway. So charging it 10 minutes a day while I'm in the shower is not that big of a deal.

If I eventually get to the point where I do a 50k-100k trail run maybe I'll grab a solar watch.

I charge mine for like a hour every 3 weeks to month. It's not a huge deal.

Was never a watch guy until this one, surprised I'm enjoying it /have gotten used to it. Next step is a chest strap HRM, though the watch seems to be pretty accurate for me whenever I've tried to compare with the old school find the carotid and count method. It does catch on something every once in a while, but sure was nice peeking at my wrist in late season to see the time instead of taking a glove off and digging out my phone. I was never a hat guy either until a few years ago, now I wear one pretty much every day

I’d be careful about that, throwing my Garmin on the charger for a short time while showering every night I’m positive is the culprit of why the battery eventually stopped holding a charge.

How will this make me a better hunter? Or how does it help the hunter?

I think it helps me by not having to take my phone out of my pocket if I need my compass/map, especially if my hands are full.

I'm also able to drop a waypoint or start a "back track" with my voice.

So I had to move to an HMO to avoid insane health care costs. So now they want to track my steps since I'm a fat middle age man. I was hoping they would give me one. But they didn't. So Instinct 2 it is. Figured might as well get a GPS option. Ordered it tonight. You guys had good reviews. I didn't pay extra for the solar option. If I replace it in a few years and like it, I will consider more options.

Great watch with or without the solar option.
