Southern Snowmageddon 2024 Thread

We drip all the faucets and keep the cabinet doors open. We got sleet yesterday and some early overnight. Hopefully precipitation wise it has done all it will do. We are in for about another week of this nasty, nasty cold. It's just a marathon now. Hunker down and stay at home. The highways belong to the roving bands of cannibals.
 
There’s nothing better for a skilled hunter than a coating of snow on the ground. I hope all you southern boys get a chance to take advantage of your anomalous snow and get out for some scouting.

I agree it is environmental- but it does seem to be a divisive topic.

Yea this house we bought has the water heater and washing machine hookups in the garage and then those pipes run up that wall to the upstairs bathroom and we had a hard time last year in similar weather from freezing. I added some insulation but I don’t think it’ll help much. We will see, still dripping for now.

That's why you save all those old incandescent light bulbs. Temporary stringer of lights with those guys going gives off some heat.

Side note. Put a few incandescent bulbs in an old cooler. Turns it into a hot box. Set your food in there hr or so before lunch, and makes it good and hot. Did it working the big jobs. Don't have to wait to microwave your food. It's ready.

Frigid 61 degrees?
Today is the first day it's been above zero since last Thursday and it's still only 4 degrees. 61 would be a heat wave. I guarantee ppl would be wearing shorts here

I’m just trying to incentivize some of my northern friends to come on down next month to get out of that snow lol
