Anyone here ever spray painted packs/bags? Trying to create some depth in a plan coyote pack.

Ideas?

Ive put brown and green spray paint stripes across a tan backpack. Worked good. Wouldn't do it any sooner than a month before I wanted to use it though.

bck in college we mass produced tshirts with the cheapest spraypaint we could find and stencils. i threw a few away a few months ago after i finally admitted they weren't ever going to fit again lol but the designs were still perfectly legible 15+ years later.

but i doubt deer notice your pack as much as you do. or at all.

Never even considered it. Shot my buck last week with a 3500 CI olive green backpack hanging from the tree 22’ up in the air right next to me. I was wearing camo, never saw a need to camouflage a stationary object that high in a tree. Ground hunting could be different.

Agreed 100%
Im a big time tinkerer but i really doubt i would ever paint any type of clothes or packs i use.
doubt it would ever make a difference
Thats me though hey try it.

Interior fabric spray paint for car interiors. I’ve used it on fabric with good results. My last job was a faded golf bag that I picked up.

It's not pretty but it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb now.
I think I have that same pack. How did you quiet the fabric and zippers? I tried string wax on the zipper. Helped a little, but definitely wouldn't try to get in the pack if I suspected anything was anywhere near.

Duplicolor makes a good vinyl/car interior spray paint available in many colors.

I have painted the shoulder straps and waist belt of a few MOLLE packs that were desert camo.

I would imagine how it will look after a little use and not how it looks while you are painting it.

The paint will rub off somewhat on the high parts of the fabric weave.

If you do a subtle sponge paint job, like what is common with sticks, then once it rubs off you'll have a pack that just looks like it was rubbed in the dirt. I think this is just the nature of using any paint on woven synthetic materials that will experience fair amount of use.

I would use cardboard stencils and tape and make a bold and contrasting pattern with largish areas of color so that when it "breaks in", it will still look like a camo paint job.
