Mine came in today. Can't wait to see how they feel. They seem solid and have a nice glass bead finish on them. I just gotta paint em and their good 2 go

Can the squirrel steps be used for climbing by substituting squirrel steps for bullmans and use bullmans strap??
squirrels clearly just climb up the tree with their built-in spurs.

I'm sure that they can be. Would you want to do this for better packability, uniformity of gear, or for better climbing performance?

They will be quieter with camoform tape and then you wouldn’t need to paint them.

You could just get some cam buckle straps for climbing, wouldn’t need the ring of steps straps. Thought about making those available on the site, wasn’t sure how many would use these for climbing.

When your platform arrives in a lil box, you can’t help but be happy.

Then you look at them together and think wow, fist size.

Then you wonder if you can stack them while on a strap to bundle them even smaller.

If they hold just as good as my ameristeps platform, this will be great!!! And so was the chicken. Hope I didn’t contaminate my steps with the smell of smoked chicken.
Oh man, Dano send me a fresh set! I’ll never see a deer.

I wondered about attaching a 6 step aider to it and climbing... small light and easy to carry. I tried it yesterday just to 7 feet. I am not sure about the next 14 feet yet but I will try it soon.
Reaching down and moving the aider to the next step is the sketchy part for me. I am sure using two sticks and attaching the aider to a ring of steps is a definite option. A modifed @noxninja method.

Cant speak for others, but I would use these steps to climb. I was really hoping the bullman steps would have worked out but I never could get them tight enough with a cam buckle strap. Have you tried one on just a cam buckle strap to see how it would do for a climbing method as well?
