I'm still getting the hang of it most goes better I noticed the farther get away from the tree at the base the better it works when you pull the rope
 
Ya. it is but sometimes you u so what you gotta do my bad knees sticks don't work
 
Have you tried DRT? I did a little in the back yard and it was very easy with the mechanical advantage with a foot ascender. I am appreciating the foot ascender more and more everytime I use it. It is just there everytime you need a leg up.:)
