Why not grab a daisy chain for the hawk? I 1 sticked with a hawk and a 1 step aider for a few years and had no issues.

I use a modified helium for 1-sticking. I have 2, actually - one with a platform and one without. Rope cam cleats on both. I think they work fine.

If your issue with heliums is how they grip the tree, then buy the EWO stand-offs for them. I did that for my helium with the platform and it helps a lot.

they have a tendency to kick out im not a fan of them and how the quality of them are sub par. i wish you could buy novix or trophy line double steps in singles.

I cut a 30" helium to 17" (easy mod- can maintain top 2 steps as is and just need to drill hole for new placement of standoff) and added cam cleat--been working great all season for one sticking with no kick outs.

Once you add the cam cleat, the suction cups dont allow them to stack for carrying. Anyone get around this?

This is exactly what I did as well. Very minimum work and with an added aider it works great for one sticking. I may try an EWO at some point, but with still hunting off a predator I haven't had the necessity to make the switch.

A few years ago I chopped down some Lone Wolfs, and then over the past year one of those evolved into my one sticker… double steps and and aider. There are better sticks out there but this stick works great.

I assembled a semi permanent stand up a tree last week, half the sticks were Heliums and half the sticks were LWs; the LWs stuck to the tree way better, way more stable.

thanks guys, I ordered a EWO one stick without a top platform with a 3 step aider. Pricey but seems to be the best option aside from a shikar fxd
