No..i crossed the valley to the cascades and it was a quiet blubird day after a full moon.not atall blacktail weather..should have stayed in the weather.saw a huge buck ,still dark out in the road tendi g a doe on private property.jumped 2 deer in the dsrk on the way in ...covered ground all day in the timber ,glassing clearcuts..nothing all day.Screenshot_20231027_075026_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20231027_074936_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20231027_074952_Gallery.jpg

Im so virtuose in not wanting any body to get hurt...so i wanted to talk about what realy hurts..its not the ropes ,straps,or exploding carbiners that will blast you into a hole in the ground if its from china or you dont use 2.......its stix

Unless they are damp, covered in frost, snow, or ice - which accounts for the majority of good hunting days round here…

I can just barely get my arms around the tree so I preset and forget it. But whenever I hunt this stand (not often) I say a Hail Mary every time I step up and re-weight my LB, and I’m not even a practicing Cat’lic anymore.
I ain’t actually afraid, but I do not like climbing this tree. Definitely a leg strap tree and I only had like 3 tie-ins with another 2 or 3 prusiks and ropes on standby.

Beter than on a stick.look every body knows the only way to make a stick stupid proof reliable is to ratchet strap them..only samciruss knows how to use a tourniquet hitch..like you should..if you want to safely use a stick
