Nothing, I guess, if that's what floats their boat. I just think a lot of folks buy into the idea that you can't kill a deer until you spend $100K on the right gear. Then they feel a huge pressure to demonstrate that they are successful and sometimes they resort to lifting other people's pictures off the internet and claiming it for themselves. I think it also sends the wrong message to young hunters that if they don't have such and such clothes of this or that truck, or a side by side that they are somehow not keeping up with the Joneses.
I agree. The Italicized was meant with a little sarcasm. I failed to bring that across well.

That's why I usually only post photos like this one I took on a recent hunt with myself and my dog in it so nobody can act like it's their pic.

Lol but in all seriousness, I really don't understand the need for social media cred and likes. It's a bit too much. Stolen valor (of the pretending to be military variety) is even worse.

Hey! Your dog looks just like mine and I shot 3 woodducks too!!!

ive heard about the taking deer thing plenty around here, its a real concern on public ground...happened fairly recently involving a nice buck on a pretty popular WMA up north. guy who actually killed it was posting all over FB trying to track it down. everybody wants to be the guy posted up with a big buck, they see an opportunity and they take it. Dont see a whole lot of honesty anymore, its sad.

Gotta get some good pics to become an influencer and get free gear from all of the hunting companies. Easier to steal other's photos instead of getting your own.

Also some are likely being used to create fake accounts to scam people on the buy/sell pages. Gotta make your profile look legit and then demand PayPal friends and family instead of goods and services.
