T hooks on Wild Edge Bag

I was thinking of using it for leg straps also. Why didn’t you like it ?

Well.... not sure I remember exactly. It was last September and I only looked at it for or a little bit before I decided to stay with stock buckles on my Kite.

I really like the Kite buckles actually. It was a case of me listening too closely to others preferences and ordering one ahead of time before I knew if I liked the stock ones or not.

I wear my saddle in including leg buckles and they make zero noise for me. I don't find them too troublesome to put on or take off at truck.

I did do the plastic cobra buckle mod from Mil Spec Monkey. Love that!

Only other downfall of this that I could think of might be losing the ability to effectively draw your bow if you come across something as you are walking in. Otherwise, an excellent idea to balance it out!

That is a great point. I was wondering about that myself.

I have never worn my release on a pm walk in but I did run into this problem at the end of this past archery. Jumped up a bedded doe away about 30 yards and she actually started walking towards me! Tried to inconspicuously dig my release out (which was in my backpack on my back). Quite the scene. She blew and bolted before I got close to that.

Might have to see how drawing and shooting works with the baby load WE pack, cause I'm definitely wearing my release from now on!

Was scrolling through the DIY threads and came across this one. Not sure how I missed this before. Great ideas here guys. I store mine in the bottom of my pack. It works ok because it keeps things compact, but I do have to take off my pack, and usually remove some clothing to get at it. This may be the solution. Will need to play around with this. How is it working out having it hooked in front? Pete

With the explosion of saddle hunting there are so many threads created it is hard to notice or keep up with them all.

I haven't done much more with this since these posts. It is hard water season and that has dominated my attention.

When the ice melts up here in the north country I'll get out for a scout/hike and see how I like carrying the steps in baby mode. I'll try going up and down some trees for practice and report back. It will be a while though with the way winter goes up here!
