Tactacam Reveal

I think them selling a ton of these at $99 and making the money the data end even tho is much cheaper than what I am paying now for exodus and stealth cam is genius. You are going to see a ton of these getting shipped out!
Not sure Dano pre ordered enough!!!

I've never been a big camera guy, but this has my interest.

What I really want is something like a gopro that I can leave in the woods in a place where I almost hung a stand, but decided to press on. I always wonder what's happening at those spots. Would be cool to be able to pull a small camera or two on your way back out and review timelapse photos to see what you missed.

It’ll show that the bucks are mostly prancing having wild parties in front of the stand we almost went to but changed our mind at the last minute

Day 6 outdoors plotwatcher pro is a time lapse camera that would do a pretty good job at seeing what you missed. They never really caught on.

Does anybody know if there are restrictions on image size with the unlimited data plans?

Other than price point and data plan, is there anything that sets this cam apart from other cell cams or is that the major appeal that everyone is excited about?

Full image size will be sent for pictures. They aren't reduced. The technology in the camera is what sets it apart. 24 mp, sub .5 second trigger speeds, image quality, and the app allows you to change every setting in the camera.

Thank You.

I'm tempted

Oh and you'll actually get good customer service. Real people actually answer the phone at Tactacam.

Not familiar with how the cell cams work

Are there 2 different models or is it 1 model and u can add either service to it?

All cell providers show that they cover all my hunting spots but they don’t actually have service, so I would probably have to have cameras on each provider or the ability to switch providers

2 separate models. If you get 1 bar of service the camera will work.

First cell cam is going to have lots of issues. That price point seems great for the consumer ,but also seems like they are using the cheapest parts available. Seems to good to be true . The fact that it states 24 mp is concerning. It most likely has a 12mp CMOS sensor and relies on interpolation. It is a marketing tactic usual employed by cheaper manufacturers. Once Trailcampro.com gets a hold of it we will know how it really performs .

Tactacam takes great pride in putting out a quality product. I don't see why this would be any different. There may be issues from a software standpoint, but I would venture to guess this camera isn't cheaply built.

@Bland316 are you affiliated with Tactacam? If so, what type of position do you have?

I love having direct access to reps for companies on these forums.

I am. I am a team member and I do dealer setup, sales and product training, and sales days at Cabela's, bass pro, and other dealers. I am also a part of Tactacam's content creation team.

There will be issues with the servers as well. Just the nature of the beast. Hopefully they learned something from spypoint. Trailcampro.com is your friend. Just about everything you could want to know about trail cameras.

Yes, I use that site a lot. They do great testing. It will be neat to see where Tactacam is on that list next year. I am sure Tactacam knows what they are doing. This isn't their first rodeo with trail camera technology. There will be hiccups with any new product, but that is to be expected.

The standard sent images are going to be full size from the SD? Can you confirm that? I've seen two infostrips showing sent images and SD images - one is white and the other is the black with the Tactacam logo on it. Usually that's indicative of a different sent image size. I think it'll be great if Tactacam is pushing out fullsize standard images on those price points. Usually data wise, a full size image is many multiples of a thumbnail 640x480; so from a business finance perspective, it'd be interesting to understand how they're doing that with the carrier certification and revenue arrangements vs. some of the larger more established companies with scale.
