Team 1 Thread

was in a tree since 1pm today. saw nothing. other than the cell cam pics coming through from the other 2 spots I nearly went to instead of the one I picked.

Nice one. I've had a couple encounters now with one that looks like that, but one side comes out the side of his head or something. Not sure if he was hit by a car or what caused it.
Brief hard quartering away shot this evening while he was walking behind a doe and I couldnt pull the trigger with the angle I had... thinking back I think I could have killed him, but it wasn't meant to be... yet.

Yea, my buddy thinks that same buck gave him the slip Friday evening about a mile and a half away from where I was.
He's almost certain it was him 'cause of the mass and the almost crab claw on the Right beam.

Won't be out until Monday or Tuesday.

Hunted Saturday and Tuesday of last/this week with nothing to show except for a half dozen vids if cruising young bucks and two sightings in one day of my target buck. Plan to take my oldest daughter one day next week since rifle opens tomorrow

just looked and team 7 has a 30 point lead now. Dang. anyone else got some good opportunities around thanksgiving? im on another big buck but most of my gun hunting is done off the ground. Guess I could strap in the saddle at ground level?

Sooo….getting ready to head out for the annual LA/AR rutcation. Unfortunately, Friday I had a little low side on my motor scooter and broke a rib and popped an airbag. Don’t count me out yet though because nothing holds me down for too long. Got a feeling I’ll be back in the woods before quick gets ready….after a minor delay. Good news is that my hunting buddy will have the pleasure of dragging him out for me ha, ha.

oh dang! hope you heal up quick man. I like the idea of a designated deer dragging buddy though.

It only hurts when I breathe….just have to hold my breath! Lung eventually reinflated after about 8 hrs in the ER so I didn’t have to add another scar next to the one I already have from 30 years ago. Lidocaine patches help quite a bit. Don’t think I will be hunting at 20’ though. Prolly just put the one stick on the tree and hunt from there. Backband will have to go across the shoulder instead of around the ribs for sure. Luckily I shoot a xbow so drawing isn’t a problem. 18 hr drive tommorrow, I will give it a few days after I get there and see how things are.

Glad UR OK. You want my Pac Seat for awhile??

No dice. Three small bucks in the last hour of daylight. Rut activity has slowed WAY down. I expect it to kick back off a few days after this full moon.
