Well that’s a nice surprise!!!!I've had some great daylight movement in the last few days, evening and morning. Had a buck I haven't seen yet show up along with his fork horn buddy. Big red oak that's dropping already
I find at least 5 good spots and rotate around them while continuing to scout unseen areas to add to the list. Goal is not to burn out a spot or stink up an area. I’ll also do blind sits on those unseen areas to see what I see. Finally got my electronic eyes on a 10, which is kind of like finding the Hope Diamond where I hunt….but there’s also an 8, a 6 and a few smaller bucks as well. I’m under no illusions in Virginia Beach. It’s not exactly a trophy mecca.Alright some nice buck pics starting to roll in! What's that strategy yall? When do you move in for the kill? I have decided this year to stay out of my good spots and wait till November. Previous years ive moved in early and it just seems to educated them. Until then it's just doe patrol in the less invasive spots. How do yall do it?
Dude you must be living life to the fullest. I feel like you're always rehabbing from some injury. Dont be too bummed about the xbow. ive been shooting one for the last 3 years since destroying my shoulder.I haven't been getting any alerts for this thread dang-it!
Yins have been shooting does and babbling along without me since Tuesday...
And posting pictures is messed up too. Sumthin' has changed in the site.
My Archery season starts tomorrow here.
I can't pull my bow back!
I re-broke my neck and I'm really bummed about having to break out a crossbow!
Id shoot him every day and twice on Sunday! GL with him.I find at least 5 good spots and rotate around them while continuing to scout unseen areas to add to the list. GL man!Right now I plan on hunting Sunday evening (opening day for us) somewhere in extreme close proximity to this camera
He has stopped showing in the morning at this spot, but has showed at 3 in the afternoon on one occasion. Going to get in a tree around 12 or 1 pm and wait it out. I'm really going to have to show patience and not kill the first mature doe that walks under me. He's a dandy buck and I'd be pumped to kill him with my longbow.
Damn thats a stud. Fingers crossed for ya.Opened my big mouth and he showed up this morning View attachment 91677
He looking pretty regular to me…in the daylight no less!Opened my big mouth and he showed up this morning View attachment 91677

ive heard the pressure can be pretty stout there in PA. I feel like opening week is always bad here too. stay after it!local season started today for me. Saw nothing other than hunters
yup! will do. I generally try to sit observation stands on weekends and hunt harder on weekdays when I can.ive heard the pressure can be pretty stout there in PA. I feel like opening week is always bad here too. stay after it!
I like that strategy. Probably avoids a lot of frustration if you have the expectation that it’ll just be an observation sit.yup! will do. I generally try to sit observation stands on weekends and hunt harder on weekdays when I can.
Pa bucks I'm guessing are on par with South Texas white tails.ive heard the pressure can be pretty stout there in PA. I feel like opening week is always bad here too. stay after it!
I can but he's super consistent evening, semi sporadic in the morning. I also do not know of a good tree at that spot, so moving in around noon-1 where I can pick a good tree makes more sense in my head. He has also showed up mid afternoon with his forkhorn buddy twice in a row between 1 and 3 PM.you able to sneak in tomorrow morning?
These early season light and variable winds are worst! GL out thereI can but he's super consistent evening, semi sporadic in the morning. The only thing that concerns me is the wind is not supposed to be very strong tomorrow and I'm afraid that near dark my thermal is going to suck into this creek bed. Hopefully he takes another mid afternoon snack tomorrow.
