That's about how it goes ain't it? Akerns hitting me in the head, 3 days of daylight photos of this doe group, and a great wind. Probably gonna get busted :sweatsmile:View attachment 93323
Called it! Dang doe looped to my weak side and got to where I walked in at. Blew out of there. She does that in a couple weeks she'll get a 200 grain 10mm

I’m still alive.…I’m just not seeing anything. Had a nice little 8 coming in to a scrape at daylight the other day and something startled him and he ran right under my butt and then just walked off straight away from me. Wasn’t a shot I was willing to take so I let him go. Still a long season ahead and i’m starting to see a glimmer of daytime movement on my cams. Things should improve soon.

Heck yeah man! Congrats on 2 nice deer. Get em on the same sit? What's the story?

Same sit. Was hunting a pinch between a bluff and a deep ditch. Sat there a few weeks ago and had a nice buck at grey light walk that ditch. Got by me and no bow shot. Wind was good to hit it again. It’s been 3-4 weeks since I’d been in there. Got in early, 45 min before first light and just listened. Akern raining in the dark and I could hear echoes of hulls being popped up the ridge in the dark. It was a timing game waiting to see if they’d hold up there till shooting light. When it got light enough I could see about 50 yards I heard him walking down the ditch just like clockwork. I was already holding in a hole I could see into that ditch just waiting to pick up movement. By the time I could pick him up he was in the hole and gone. Inset expletive here. Started looking for another hole down stream and all a sudden he came digging up out of the ditch and was broadside in the wide open at 15 yards. Click, bang, RUNNOFT, crash. Done. That was 0725. At 0800 here comes the wagon train of does and yearlings. The first 4 passed by no problem. I had my eye on a fatty about 6 back when #5 looked dead up in the tree and picked me off and started doin’ what women do. She blew, took two hops and stopped and blew for the last time. She blows, she goes.

Plot Twist! Went to lay hands on the buck and found out it wasn’t the deer I thought it was. I’m no trophy hunter so my disappointment lasted as long as it takes to say, “meh.” and slap a tag on him.

Sounds like a great hunt! Even if it wasn't the original buck you thought! Congrats again. Think that should put us within a point of first place again too.

Well expect the unexpected. My wife was admitted and had an emergency C section and my boy was born this afternoon while I was shoving camp into the hatch of my buddy's trail blazer. 17 weeks early.
Wow! Well I guess congrats of a different kind are in order! Way to go Dad!

Congrats on becoming a dad. Prayers that all are healthy and recovering.

We're good for now. He will stay in the NICU for quite a while. 1lb 11 oz 12" long

I'm really at a loss for what to do now. Both my daughters have been full term babies, and fairly easy deliveries.
Congrats. Will be praying for him to be strong and healthy. Momma good?
