Team 10

On my way in I did a little scouting, I cut a really big set a buck tracks, super deep into the trail too, fresh. First buck sign I’ve seen all season so far NOT at my little property

I ended up sticking three decoys out in one of my best spots from last year, turned miout to be a colossal waste of time though lol did manage to lose my classes in the woods though, so I got something accomplished!

Wow! That's gotta be that 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 year jump. Looks like he almost doubled in size lol. Very nice. Hope you get him.
All 3 of those pics are of the same deer from last year. Camera pictures didn't do him any justice. If I don't think he's alive once November is over I'll put the pic I have of him from this year up.

Nice deer.

And I've never seen pics from a cam mounted up that high. Respect.
Haha. I always climb a stick high and then mount them up around my shoulders so they're 10-12 feet up usually. Helps deter people from taking them on public and the deer notice them far less. @7mmremmag mounts make it easy.

I hide all mine up high or also down low. Like ground level but it makes judging pics interesting.

Agree on deterrence. That high takes some effort. And it lessens the effective range of the cam capture radius. Not trying to argue, I am seriously impressed. Good job.

No worries, I was not taking it that way. Just explaining why I do it. Definitely lessens the range and lowers the pic quality but I’ll take the tradeoff. Had another new buck show up today. Mid day at that

Haha sweet. Took my boy out tonight. He didn’t wanna listen to me about walking a little farther to get to where I thought we needed to be so we sat for 4 hours and saw 0 deer. Luckily he still had fun and still wants to go again but man dad wants to get a deer with him in the worst way lol. I know it’s bothering me more than him and he’s having fun so I just gotta keep it up. Next time we might bring the .22 with us instead and the squirrels are gonna be in trouble. Easily coulda had our limit tonight

I sat morning and evening and all I had come in was a dang armadillo tonight. I was wishing for a sacrificial arrow or a cinder block, lol. I had to settle for hosing him off with some recycled coffee. He didn't like that too much, lol. I can't stand those things.

Although I didn’t put an arrow through one, I had a pretty good night in the tree. I had a nice doe at 15 yards for awhile, but she never would step into my shooting lane. Right as it got dark I had several more deer come in on me, at one point I had deer on two sides of me crunching on akerns. I ended up having to sit in the tree until 8:30pm so I wouldn’t spook deer; as many deer are in this spot, I can’t help but think its just a matter of time.

Good luck!

We've got warmer weather for the next week, so I'm going scouting to a spot that has deer AND I'm looking for decoy sets. HOPE to find some hot sign.
Spent all day scouting and have two killer PM spots, but not crazy about the morning locations....Ready to get going tomorrow 42 degrees for my FLORIDA bow opener! YES!!!!!

Man, I remember my early days of hunting when my dad would take me out with the 22 and let me pick off squirrels. Definitely don’t skip on that, you’ll both remember it forever

Took him out last winter but we didn’t have any luck. Now’s the time to do it but I’ve gotta sacrifice a deer hunt to do so which is hard for me to do. Luckily have 2 down already this year makes it a little easier. We’ll get out there at some point to plink a few. I do everything I can to spend as much time as I can outside with the kids. They LOVE bringing home fish to eat

All sorts of memories going to deer camp the 2nd week of deer season back in the 70s and early 80s with my Dad, uncles, cousins, and all the deer camp crew. Some of my favorite memories growing up. Deer camp kinda died last year again. TRYING to get the crew back going, but they are all over the planet OR in medical school!

Haha sweet. Took my boy out tonight.

Some OLD and New deer Camp photos

I sacrificed a day in the saddle today to spend some time with my boy squirrel hunting. As much as I wanna be deer hunting, he’s 12 and I won’t have too many more days that he wants to hunt with dad. 17A82C7C-E018-4C22-9175-BB02882808B4.jpeg

Hunted 2 different spots yesterday with no luck. The evening location seemed too good so I'm giving it another go this morning, but unfortunately with similar results. Have a good PM spot I'm headed to tonight and will be scouting midday for a morning spot for tomorrow. A buddy got a 6 yesterday and another buddy got this 8 morning. Nice buck for Florida public land.
