I can’t figure out how to rotate it and all my icons disappeared.

I set up in the pouring down rain at a spot that I scouted in September. It worked nicely because I could slip in quietly. I was on the east side of a thicket with an off wind blowing just passed the thicket. Around 9 o’clock a doe came running through. I would have taken a shot but she didn’t slow down enough. Less than a minute later a buck shows up at the transition line and I believe caught a little swirling wind of me. It was too wet to check. He was stomping and looking around so I knew I didn’t have much time. I judged it for just under 40, put the 30 just above centerline to compensate for the angle and alertness. It looked like a solid pass through while quartering to. I got down a while later and looked where I shot him there was good blood but I couldn’t find the arrow. I knew right where he crossed the creek and when I climbed the bank on the other side , I could see white belly 40 yards out. It turns out the arrow went in right at the front right shoulder and was hanging out of the back left leg, lung shot. I’m using 2 blade fixed heads because of penetration issues with mechanicals in the past. Everything happened so fast and I didn’t get the best look at him to determine whether he was a shooter or not. I could only see the good side and I could tell that it was out passed his ears. I wonder if he had his ears at a different angle when I was judging him. I’m happy with it either way.
Congrats on an awesome buck! Gotta love a classic rut hunt, with a buck chasing a doe.

He’s actually a 6 pointer. His right side only has 2 points

Got my first skunk of the year in today. I was going in mostly blind on a hunch and I think I went in too deep. That’s what she said lol. Anyway the deer rolled through before it was light grunting and having a great time without me trying to run an arrow through one. Got down and found a fresh scrape line and moved a cam on a couple. I’ll be back out Friday looking for this guy

This morning, on the cam I moved to where I hunted yesterday, a spike chased a doe through at the same time as I heard them coming through yesterday. Then at 7:30 what looks like a shooter went through. Right place, wrong day. I'm waiting on the HD pic and hoping Friday gets here quickly.

Well, he still hasn't shown up since this pic, so I think it's unfortunately most likely that he's dead and probably safe for me to post. Hopefully he's just shifted properties and some other guy is getting to chase after him. Who knows, maybe he'll still show back up. Biggest deer I've ever had on cam.

I chased them again today but no luck. I was covered up with squirrels though. This dry spell has to end soon!

Day 6 of the no deer seen streak. This morning I walked the edge of a marsh and set up between the marsh edge and some white oaks that were dropping. I sat until noon with no luck. There were fresh droppings under the tree and white oak acorns and nipped caps. It's just weird. I think they are moving at night.

For the evening I threw in a wild card. I knew where a red oak was that was dropping a few days ago and it is in a thick, roadside bedding area. The spot is not more than 120 yards off the road, but it is thick in there. Last fall I investigated the area and there was poop galore. The other day when I checked it things looked good. I set up in that thicket in a weird hard barked corkscrew shaped tree. It was fun 2tcing that one since gravity had me going all over the place. I had high hopes for that sit because I was over a couple of active feed trees, and they were in thick cover. Also, the squirrels were having a party in there. I bet there were 6 total and their skittering around in the leaves kept me on high alert all evening. It was a fun hunt but resulted in no deer. I did have one blow at me about the time i got back on the ground after dark. It was about 100 yards deeper in the thicket and I'm sure it heard me.

It was thick in there. If something came in, I was really going to have to thread the needle.

I got out today, did a bunch of scouting, hoping to find a great spot to hang and hunt, but it didn’t happen. Found one lousy rub! Going to head to couple of different spots tomorrow, hoping to get on some good buck sign.
