Exactly. My vacation starts after today and the next weeks temps all look horrible. Long range is looking good though so hopefully that holds true.
 
Awesome day in the woods that can be best summed up by “close”. Beyond the buck before first light this morning, I saw 2 does and another pretty 8 point this afternoon - the first buck I’ve seen on stand this year. All got to about 30 yards and it looked like it might happen, but wasn’t meant to be.

I’m stoked for tomorrow. Colder overnight should have the bucks continuing to move.
 
Getting closer. Had a forkie with half his rack busted off come through this morning about 8:30. He came from behind and left, and I had just clipped onto the string when he turned and walked straight away.

He ended up over in the same area as those deer yesterday. Turns out there’s a good size scrape over there. I’m going to adjust slightly for this evening to have a shot at that area.

Tonight is gonna be the night!
 
Nothing but a coyote this morning. Pulled my gear as I have an obligation this afternoon.

I’m planning on using this snow to scout for my second park hunt tomorrow. This one is more of a free for all so we can hunt multiple spot. We can also throw cameras out too, so that’s the plan.

I’m hoping to hunt the LE WMA once more this week after work, since the permit is only good through Friday. It opens back up after gun and muzzy but that’s not till mid December.

Let’s go team, rut is right around the corner!
 
Kayaked in this morning, spooked a doe walking in. Around 9:15 seen a coyote headed to doe bedding area. About 15 mins later seen a few does who got my thermals and/or the coyote scent. Blew out of there. Im exhausted and trying to debate on whether to make myself go this evening. A piece of private would be good right now. Good luck everyone.
 
I’ve been hunting a good 8 all season so far. Only night pics, and 1 sighting. Praying for another cold front in the southeast
