TEAM 14 DISCUSSION THREAD

I will connect soon. Will be rolling into Kansas two weeks from Saturday and hoping for a good trip. If not I will stay with them here at home and get some does and hopefully a nice buck before it’s over. My best hunting will be dec 1 - dec 25

Way to go! Nice buck, and way to get us on the board! I’ve been out twice so far. Once on opening day for the evening hunt, no deer sightings. Once the other evening and saw five does, but none in range. Have a bunch of good young bucks on my cameras but won’t take any of those. As the next couple weeks go on, more bucks will show up on my private land so hopefully some older ones!

way to go on the 6 point- seasson starts tmr, business bout to pick up - aint rained in almost two months - we take off for opening day and its calling for 1-3 inches:dizzy:. going anyway.

Tell me about it I took off for it also and then to top it off woke up sick and couldn't even go. I will be in the woods Friday though. Good luck to all of you.
 
Weather man says i should be able to hunt this evening.....god i hope he is right.
 
I passed a shot on a nice 9 and several does Wednesday afternoon. The hunt was awesome. Saw 3 bucks and 5 does all at some point were 10 yards or less with the exception of the good buck which was 26. I have been twice more since then to other areas and haven’t seen a thing. Maybe in the morning I can break the ice
 
Finally seen a deer, nice little 4 or 5 point. He seen me move slightly and went down wind and ran off.
Hallelujah though i seen a deer!!!

Man you're at a different spot in your hunting career than me! I woulda taken a poke at that 9. Think of your team mates man! We need those points! Haha. Glad you had an awesome hunt.

It all starts with 1!! Sometimes that all you need to keep going.

I got back in town and hunted last night. Got out super late. No time to even climb a tree. Just set up on the ground near a scrape in the middle of two trails. Heard some footsteps behind me and slowly turned my head to see a huge doe about 5 feet from me! We stared at each other for what seemed like forever. I finally started to slowly bring my bow around to see if I could take a shot, but she bolted. Ran straight through the bedding area blowing like crazy and ruined any chances I had for the rest of the evening. Be back at it this Tuesday though.

Today was my last vacation day...here on out im a weekend warrior. Kayaked in walked about 1/2 mile picked a tree on a ridge got all the way up and my ocb buckle broke for my squirrel steps. Sat on the ground for about an hour and had a doe come up behind me and spooked off with me moving. Getting closer, next weekend we are allowed to shoot does and i have some spots. Hope my ocb buckle comes in by Friday.

Sorry to hear about that. That's frustrating as crap! Makes me wonder if I should carry one extra ocb. Where was the failure on the buckle? Strap or the metal pieces? Was it one of DanO's?

I just ordered 2 a little while ago, was about to take a picture of it and realized i left it at the tree this morning so now im going back this evening. Yes it was one of @DanO ocb's. It was dark when it happened and i believe it was the the metal bar that broke. When i go get it this evening i will post a pic on a thread.
