Same here in PA. I'm going to slip down to MD for 1-3 days next week, still have some moving parts in the schedule, but man, do I need to get in a tree ASAP.

I think the first year I did this contest we were DINKs, working for the man. Now 3 young kids, self-employed. with a couple side hustles, holy crap what I wouldn't give to have the free time I had in my 20's. All good, we'll get there again! But efficiency is the name of my hunting game in this era.

Good news for the team scoreboard is my freezer is down the dog scraps, we need venison burger stat.

I'm wondering how this season is going to go with the phenology and timing. Our season is pegged to the calendar and with an Oct 5th start is as late as it can be. With the early spring we had everything from greenup to the turkey rut to the mast is about 3 weeks ahead of schedule this year. If that carries into the deer behavior also, it's going to get late early this season. As a big woods rut hunter, that would help me greatly as the best mature buck movement we get is usually the last week of our season and the week following.

No gear changes for me this season, just dusting off the ole reliables. I ditched cameras this season. I'm over them, and I'm totally over seeing them everywhere in the public woods, so why be a hypocrite.

I'm in PA too, who would have guessed. my season starts 9/26 when I travel to 5C for a UBOP doe hunt. Looks like it will be rainy the entire time I'm there, oh well. I leave a week from today!

New for me this year is I bought an inline muzzleloader and plan to get out several times that week.

I'm essentially a public land hunter other than the UBOP doe hunt and I also rifle hunt in VA in November for 3 days on private.

Let’s gooooo! (I’m 46 years old, have never said that in real life.) Long time lurker first time participant. I hunt a private piece in NE Ohio, must admit this year I’m not seeing a real good buck on cam yet, but I have some good setups that’ll prolly deliver something at some point. I have the week of Nov 4-8 off, will spend the back half of that in southern OH.

Happy times right here boys!!!! Our Kentucky season is already full swing, I hope to be a contributor to our team this year too! I’ve been averaging around 100 sits a season and got some dandy’s on camera! Best wishes to all and God Bless!

I’ll be in Athens Ohio the first week of November myself looking to connect on public land!

Born and raised a Yinzer (Altoona area)! Live in Southern VA now, but mostly hunt 2 private farms in Monroe county WV. The WV opener is 9/28 and I should be able to get out for a bit then.

Good luck to everyone!

Hey folks, northeast WI here. Public and private mix, season started last weekend but it was warmer than I like for archery and I'm laid up at the moment. With two little boys I won't get anywhere near as much tree time as some of you but I'll most likely put two does on the board.

I picked up an ESS when it was on sale and might get that up and running this year. Needs a lot of customizing.

The trail cam thing is interesting, I scout people almost as much as I scout deer so I like it when people tell me where they sit. My two personal cameras on public though are both giving me fits. I picked up a buck a few mornings in a row last year on private and if I can catch the same pattern prerut I think I have a good chance at him though I may set up on the ground and have a good story and no points!

Good luck all!

Hey Team 3!! I’m very excited for another year of the contest. In the past I’ve greatly enjoyed the virtual deer camp that the contest provides.

My home hunting terrain is western mass and if life and work allow I’ll get a lot of good stand hunting with a trad and compound bow in October and November. I’ve got a few very nice bucks I’ve been following and am hopeful to take one. Though im all about meat in the freezer and will likely seize opportunity when it knocks.

I have hopes of hunting a few days in maine in early October. I may make several runs up to NH for stand hunting through the season. I’m also a dedicated tracker and love chasing deer in the snow. If weather permits I’ll be on the track in Mass, NH, and Vermont. Be prepared, I’m quite likely to take deer I can’t submit!

allright team 3!
Already have 2 Hunts in, and acorns were dropping .
I’m in NH and will take an out of state trip to eastern PA, the week of the opener. ( I had access to lots of private but have to switch to public due to a divorce )
reach out if you want to hunt mid week.

I’ll be hunting as much as I can with my stickbow, then get a some days in with muzzle/ rifle .

what part of eastern PA?

I live in 5B and hunt 5B and 5C. 4C is a bit far for me unless you are in SGL 211, 110 or 80

I’m working on an avatar design. This concept came to me over morning coffee. It still needs refining and thickening of the lines so that it appears right when it’s small.
