Team 3 Thread

First sit this morning, still warm, tempa in the high 60's. Had a doe and 2 yearlings move past at 0840. I kinda only went today to get that first sit out of the way, I purposely did not buy doe tags yet, and it would have had to be a really good buck for me to pull the trigger this morning.
All in all, it was a good morning saw some deer, got to get back in the saddle and wake up with the woods. This is hands down my favorite time of year.
Saturday is the WV opener, I'll be over the stateline for sure this weekend.
 
Still have a few days, but got a guy that's starting to pop up a few times now. It's a little blurry...I think it's almost time to see how he's doing in person.

Well, just over 2 weeks out. I've narrowed him down to about a square mile. Only problem is he's way more inconsistent this year. Last year by this point I had over 60 pictures of him and I was getting one or 2 a week, now I've only got 11 this year and I get one every ten days or so. Blew my chance for 5pts last night. Had 13 does and 5 turkeys come in but all were just out of range til the very last light. Shot right under her! Guess that means I have to go hunting some more!:tonguewink::tonguewink:

So tomorrow is the WV statewide opener. I can't hunt the morning, but I'll be out tomorrow evening. I was deployed this summer so I didn't get any cameras hung in WV at all, but I have been hunting down there a few years now so I'm confident in my ability to make adjustments and find the deer....... Then next Saturday is the PA opener and I'll be dang sure hunting that big guy again this year.... good luck happy hanging, and be safe!
 
Hunted a new spot last night but only saw turkeys! 11 of them and 6 were Toms. Know where I’ll be spring Turkey hunting! Lol!

That's a freakin slouch!
None of the deer in my area have wide racks, all just outside their ears with 8-12" G2s.
 
Well I can't put this on here for points but I got it done in WV last night. He was quartering to me a heck of a lot more then I originally thought, so entry was right in the pickle barrel, but exit was but and I had gut on the arrow....... still i had great blood so I thought maybe he didn't go far. . . . . I knew I should just give him time but I still went after him.. after about 160 yards I decided that i should back out until the morning.. temps were going into the 40s so he'd be fine if I left him. I woke up at 4 and grabbed my spotlights. I went to last blood and kicked on the spot light and there he was . . . . 12 yards from where I stopped last night....
I had to pack it out so no pics of the whole deer with my saddle because I suck but anyway...

Congrats, next time take pics. Hell take pics of the antlers and your saddle with you in the pic and also these pics and submit it. We need all the points we can get.
 
Great looking deer- congrats!

I didn't make it out this weekend for AR's opener, as I was out of town, but next week is looking promising. I hope I can draw some early success and get some points on the board.
