Team 5 - 2021

The scope is already mounted and bore sighted (the place I bought the rings mounted it for me. I just haven’t done the actual sighting in at the range. It’s a Remington 760 in 308.
Man you could triple that 150 with that gun if you can see that far………

Yea that’s what I’ve been told. I just can’t think of a scenario where I would have that much distance to shoot a deer. 150 seems like max for the places I currently hunt. Rifles are new to me so itll be fun getting use to shooting them and hunting with them.

Cold weather has them moving. Spike just came in right under my tree 3 yards. 4 Turkey at 15 yards.

I got driven out of the tree this evening by lightning and snow! The rut hunting has been epic, with lots of great action, just haven’t aligned the cards quite right just yet.

The recent contest standings reveal that team 5 is still in the running, let’s keep this weeks momentum going!

I saw 23 deer today and 18 Turkey. Only one was a buck but it was a spike lol!

Saw 4 or 5 does on a new property I just got access to. I sat the edge due to wind and it being my first time on the place.

Couple friends of ours invited us to Mexico next week for the wive’s 40th birthday. I should be happy for some fun in the sun, but all I can think about is missing out on some prime hunting season. Oh well. Be back at it next Friday!

Wow, 23 deer in a day! Around these parts you only see numbers like that in a winter yard in Jan, Feb, and March during a hard winter.
Today I’m heading into an area I know very well but haven’t hunted yet this season. This place is the goldmine where I shot my big buck last year. I don’t have any presets hung in this place so I’ve got my work cut out for me this morning.

Well I had my chance. I got back out in the woods later then I wanted right before three in the same spot I’ve gotten a few daylight pictures of some bucks. I set up in the same tree I was yesterday and seeing all those deer. This was just slightly out of visual range of my camera. Well long story short he came in front of the camera with 5 minutes of shooting light left and then crept by my stand at last light at around 20 yards. I squinted and squinted as he came by and I just could not see him. I didn’t know until I got down that it was him. This was the one time that being on my phone might of helped me know what deer was coming. Regardless I just couldn’t see. It sucks because I had two buddies that said I should have set up closer to my camera. Mannnn! Hope he’s still around next week did a shot. 7E4B05CC-1F23-498A-AF3E-0A906D97AE22.png

12 people. 2 bucks. Three does. It’s the thick of the rut in Midwest. We’ve had a few cold fronts across the country. What in the heck is going on boys?!
