I was out from about 1PM to 4PM. I didn't see any deer or other hunters. I saw dog walkers.

You're on a roll. Congrats on a great season this far. I think you've killed more deer then the rest of us combined.
Thanks!

I kinda gotta shoot does to get more buck opportunities. September is earn a buck so I try to get a doe down as quick as possible. The closest property I have to home is a county park management program and I have to shoot 2 does there to shoot a buck so all those does add up quick lol. That was doe #1, hopefully I can get #2 tomorrow or Saturday.

Guys, I've failed. Had an opportunity at a fantastic mountain buck. Pulled 2 all day sits friday and saturday, a mile and a half from the truck. Finally at 530 on the second evening had this big joker slip through the laurel on the opposite ridge from me. My entire season leading up to this came down to an 80 yard shot through a small window of laurel. I had a good rest, took my time, and (although I have not checked my scope since then) I got buck fever and must have pulled the shot, resulting in a non fatal hit. I tracked sparse blood for 45 yards until losing the trail. Returned the following day and continued the trail for 20 or so yards. Myself and a friend combed the mountain for 4 hours seaching through laurel and creek bottoms, but did not recover the buck.

This would have been my first public land buck, and quite possibly my largest ever. Sorry I let the team down.

I'm with @LtMoe66. I enjoy this contest every year just for the shear fact of getting to know guys better, to "chew the fat." it's almost like a 4 month long virtual deer camp. It isn't about the points on the board

I feel bad I can't get out more to get a least one. I will try on Friday. I have been out about 20 half days and only saw deer once.

I'm sorry fellas that I've not knocked one down yet, been a long tough season for me. Deer numbers are down in my area so I've scrambling to find other deer and I've managed to find a couple giants I've dedicated my time to. Hopefully I can get one of them on the ground soon! Heres one of themScreenshot_20201211-142205_Video Player.jpgScreenshot_20201211-142215_Video Player.jpg

That’s a monster! Good luck! I think most of us would try to get that one if there was a chance! Hang I there!

Thanks I've been hunting him hard with no luck. Also been after another that's probably 140" or so, that's got semi palmated antlers, really cool deer. I've gotten closer on him, but still no luck. They're still up cruising here and I'm hoping this weekend I pick the right spot and catch one of them slipping. It's supposed to warm up to mid 50s and south winds, dont really have a good place for a south wind in this area without coming in from the other parking lot, which is a 1.4 mile walk one way, so looks like I'm going to be wearing out some boots lol

You guys are quiet!

I completed my doe management for the year last night. I'm going to skip muzzleloader hunting and just scout and put in family time until January 1st when I have a fresh bow buck tag in my pocket and go for the trifecta this year.

I swear I was going to comment today on here about "It isn't over until the fat doe sings" but I caught up in something at work... congratulations, again lol

Nice Red! I scouted some new ground today and found a HOT community scrape in a bottom - loads of rubs and even bumped a deer of uknown gender walking in - best sign ive got so far.

Walked the majority of saturday and sunday scouting and found nothing exciting. Fingers crosswd

Hate to say but my season got cut, haven’t had the time to hunt this season especially after my truck went down which resulted in me working more to get the money to fix it. Hope everyone is having a better season than I have had and I hope everyone’s Christmas is truly blessed!
