Team #7

Thought there might be a miniscule chance I could get out for the last weekend of the season but my pup must have got into something he shouldn't have and I've been from vet to ER hospital to vet to different ER hospital and so on and so on all week so it's not going to happen. Going to need to find another job instead.
We're broke buddies, maybe we can host a big saddle gear dump haha. I really should have gone the medical career route what a freaking racket.

Been there with the dog too, it sucks. Hope it gets better.

This is the last weekend for the primary WMA I hunt down at the river and the forecast is way less than stellar. Rain Saturday morning and N wind 10-20. Sunday is 10-15 wind. Will be shocked if I see much of anything at all.

Thanks guys. After not eating for over 3.5 days he was finally able to keep some food and meds down yesterday. Hopefully trending in the right direction now

@BTaylor that wind won't hurt anything for ya and will help you know where your scent is going if it's consistent. Get to those thick places they like to hide up in. Get it done

Get healed up.

Here once the wind hits 15 or above it is like cutting the power cord for movement. If it wasnt the last weekend for that area I would most likely not hunt but I reckon I might as well test the old "you cant kill 'em if you dont go" theory. LOL Have 3 spots in mind based on what I found last weekend. Maybe one will make a mistake.

I prefer 10 to 20 mph, and if you can deal with creeping in at the tail end of the rain they will move close to bedding/thick at the end of the storm.

You local or something? Pretty sure I didnt mention the rain I plan to slip in behind. ;)

I never see crap once the wind gets to 15 or above. May just be in the wrong spots.

I never seen anything with wind over 12-15 mph either. If I can tho, I like to catch those days with a wind like that, that will calm down to nothing. Good wind cover getting in but after I'm set I want it to quit and be done lol.

I like wind in the rut. It seems to get older bucks on their feet a little more. Maybe correlation, not causation, because when we have wind in November it's almost always a cold north wind following a front.

Other than that, you can have it.

Well my hunt plan went to crap. The spot I intended to hunt at least for the first hang was standing water. Between the snow melt and rain most of the week including all night friday night and half the day saturday, the woods had a lot of standing water. Saturday afternoon turned into a scouting trip. Found a few spots with acorns and sign but the rain had everything matted down to the point it was not possible to discern the hot spots from the not really hot anymore spots. Never found a spot I was confident to hang. May have been a little too picky. The spots I really wanted to check I couldnt get to due to water and the boots I wore. Wind was supposed to be way less and it was supposed to be cleared off Sunday morning but it seemed the wind was worse and it was heavy overcast when I got up, so I went back to bed.
