Team 8

It was pouring today pretty good in ct but I made the decision to try it there was a “break” in the weather. I never saw it! Umbrella got ripped off the tree and I soaked through a darn poncho then finally said I had enough and back to massachusetts I went!
Better man than me. I don’t do rain. Snow is no problem but I refuse to get soaked whilst swinging around in a tree.

Send some to us here in KY. It’s drier than a popcorn fart.

Looks like a warm weekend up here. I am busy all Sunday. Going to try and make it out Monday for my first hunt.

Getting after it today boys! @slonstdy what part of ct you in? Im down here right now!
I'm actually in NY. I jump to CT to take advantage of the mid-September season start. It gets me out hunting two weeks earlier than NY.
Good luck today!

I’m in mass so I get an extra month going to ct! And thanks!

I was trying to get in the fed tree this morning. I bumped a doe off walking up. But the angle on the limb my preset went around was to tight. I couldn't get my rope thru. I climbed it last year. It was tight then. Must have closed up just a little more. 5 turkeys went thru it, does, and two small bucks. One nice doe I was trying to shoot. But the stand I droppeeld back to was really set for the kids to shoot the crossbow out of. So It was taking some effort to try and get a good shot. No place to set my platform and hunt from behind it. She was out at 30 and edgy. So I wanted a good shot. Eventually she bugged out.
Warming up now. Supposed to be 80 again today. Despite the heat I have seen a lot of deer activity all over. Drove to get a doe tag at 7 last night and saw a nice buck in someone's yard on the way.
Supposed to cool off for next weekend.

Well I ended up with shots fired. I tried to fill my turkey tag. Had a lone goobler come in. He picked up on me drawing. Started walking away. I sent one at him anyway. But he was further than I thought. Now I gotta arrow in the grass to find. Gonna have to come back with the metal detector.

They are way harder to kill from a tree in the fall than they are in the spring. Or at least they have been for me over the years.

Unfortunately I am 0 and 3 in my last attempts to kill a turkey now. Missed one last year. Year before in the spring.

Well guys, I had convinced myself I would’ve gotten something opening day, but I didn’t get it done. Saw some so I know I’m in the right spots. I just forgot about the grind.
Good news is, Michigan weather being what it is, we are supposed to drop 20 degrees on Thursday so I’ll try to get some freaking points for the team.

Sat from noon till dark on Monday in PA. Heard a few doe blowing about 75 - 100 yards from me around 5pm. No one else back that far so I thought either coyotes or a bear spooked them. Next time there I'll scout over there and see if I can find the area they're using.
