Team 9 Thread

I saw 3 does this evening but Tucker County where I’m hunting is a one doe county.

Tomorrow I’m headed back to the same area I was at this morning. I wanted to scout a little more this afternoon but my knee was bothering my and I stopped about 200 yards shy of where I planned to check out for a morning setup.

The good news is I had to walk uphill just under 500 yards to get out and my knee felt fine when I was done.

Finally got one down. After 4 days of watching bucks chase does through woods one of them finally gave me a shot. Had a spike come through on top of ridge at 7am. Stupid spike was rubbing his 3” spikes on a tree. After that saw a deer coming through bottom of ridge by a creek. He stopped to make a scrape then started to trot off. Ended up stopping him but of course he stopped behind a big pine. Luckily I was able to swing myself around and lean out for shot. Good thing for saddles….lots of different shot opportunities if you trust your gear!! Bring it was rut crazy time I had my rifle and shot him behind shoulder and came out in front of other shoulder. Heart shot so he only ran about 20 yards and expired.

Awesome! Good buck

Last Saturday in WV rifle season! My first time saddle hunting with a rifle! Wasn’t bad! No shots fired…

Same here guys, probably a goose egg for me too.
I was able to shoot a doe with 350 legend, I did have my saddle on but I was on the ground. Meat for the freezer but no points. Screenshot_20231212_125117_Gallery.jpg

Here he is! Not my best shot placement but mega meat made an easy and swift track. This is the only photo I have, I didn’t get one of myself in the frame with my saddle…
