Team Johnny 5 is alive!

Had something walk under me at 6:40 but too dark to see anything. Other than that morning sit was a bust. Had this snake under me too before I left.

Just set up in a creek bottom over a fresh scrape and rub. We shall see.
You get extra points for a snake from your saddle...

My Saturday weather is calling for rain and gust up to 55mph. So...I might scout some ground!

I've been swamped with work and haven't had time for much else lately. Should finally get a chance to swing around a tree in the morning.

Any sighting on that beast at all?
No he's moved out for the year. He left last year at the end of October and came back around the first of December. Probably won't see him for a while but you never know... Got a pic of a new buck tonight that doesn't have as much character but is around the same size. Never seen him before, hope I see him in the morning.

I sat all morning today, and did all day sits Thursday and Friday. It’s been hot as hell and the bucks seem to be in hiding. But, historically the rut starts right about now and we have a cold front rolling in for this coming week. So, I’m getting excited.

I'm trying!! 40 degrees and rainy. Not going to get any points tonight, as I am staying on the ground. Good luck everyone!

I was half way climbing up the tree at day break when I noticed 1 doe, then another, then about 15 of them and a good stud buck all within 50 yards in this small 5 acre field. A wall of privet and blackberry allowed me to get so close.
But by the time I got my muzzleloader up the tree, one was on to me and they all busted. Had does around all morning, finally they came back close enough to get a shot on one.
Not my first deer out of the saddle but first with a gun. I’ve just been ground hunting the past couple years once muzzleloader and rifle season come around.
