Just curious,

Remember a random comment that someone packed his saddle just in case for a elk trip. I always picture a lot open hills and mountains when I think of elk hunting, but then l realized most of the video I see of successful elk shots are in those wood pockets so it might not be that impractical? What animals have you guys successfully killed from a saddle other than whitetails:

Intended or not? As in it wasn't your goal for that hunt but you decided to take that shot. Example, coyote.

Yes: squirrels counts.

I took a bear out of my greens leather saddle in 2018. Heart show, it was running across the ridge. It was during Deer season, bear crosses over and I always take whatever opportunities for meat I can get

Other than whitetail I've shot a bear, 3 sika deer and a coyote.

You can't see it in the picture but I'm wearing my saddle here. Tying in with your feet on the ground gives you both the ability to hide behind the tree and get a better sight line.

Sika deer. A saddle make's it easy to get into the tiny, dead trees in the marsh that make you wonder if they will actually hold you.
