Tenpoint Quality and Customer Service is Junk

So I somewhat recently sent in my Tenpoint Turbo M1 in for warranty work because the Accudraw Pro unit was broken; the pawl safety lever wasn't holding the string in place whenever it was being cranked. The first time I realized this the string was almost 3/4 into the power stroke of the xbow and my hand accidentally slipped off the crank lever. All I'll say is that I was lucky my finger didn't get broken even though the crank spinning hit my middle finger; it hurt like heck. So after Tenpoint reviewing it they basically claimed that I broke the Accudraw by back winding the Accudraw while the pawl was engaged. This has never been done in the 3 yrs I've owned this xbow. And they are expecting me to pay almost $200 to fix it.

I contacted Tenpoint and politely disagreed with this and their response is to email them disputing this. No human discussion happens anymore... WTH? So, I sent them a dispute email as they requested. After calling them twice asking for a follow up. I finally get an email response saying basically that I had either back winded it or I tried to decock the xbow using the Accudraw. Neither of these insinuations have been done. The final insult is that the representative tells me that they cannot give me any money off the warranty work but can send me arrows for free. Are you freaking kidding me? Why would I want that?

I understand that this isn't their top line xbow but for a $1200 xbow, it's not cheap and you'd think they'd stand behind their product. I'll reach back to them one last time and if they maintain this position, I'm never buying another Tenpoint again. This is trash pure and simple.

I feel your pain. Did you purchase on line? Or thru a web site? Wonder if a dealer would have had more luck getting it fixed.
But from their point of view they can't possibly fix every thing that comes back to them. Do they have to replace the whole draw system? I see a new draw system for 165 on ebay. How many arrows are they sending you? Maybe just ask for it back.
Super glade you didn't hurt your self when that happened. You can look at it and say you saved some money on medical bills. Hopefully your limbs are okay.
I'm sure you can find a similar story for every manufacturer out there. I wouldn't give up on it.
Hopefully it was just a fluke. Get out there and kill a big one this season.

To answer your questions and give you some additional background information...

I bought it online from a certified dealer. I've been reading from time to time about Tenpoint's CS going downhill for the past few years; I didn't believe it as I have an older Tenpoint that I had to use their CS like 6 yrs ago and they were fantastic at that time. The differences between my previous interaction and this new one is like night and day. The previous one was because I dropped my xbow out of my stand, sent it to them, and told them that I messed up. I sent it back to have them do a thorough inspection to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with it. I actually spoke to the technician who was extremely friendly. They reviewed it, deemed it fine except for it needing new strings and cables which I paid to have them replace.

Fast forward to this time... you don't speak with anyone except if you call them but even then they won't transfer you to the technician or case manager. They force you to do everything via email which is not what I would ever call good customer service. I've had to chase them down to get a response to my dispute... again, bad customer service. And then even though they say it's my fault they try to bribe me with a crappy parting gift of arrows. I don't use their arrows because they're inconsistent and as a result I buy spine and weight matched arrows.

The cost for a replacement thru them is nearly $200. Maybe it's just me but that's completely unacceptable. I've just sent an email to a representative of theirs named Randy Woods; hopefully he can help. Otherwise, I'm out on Tenpoint.

Sorry to hear of your woes, but tenpoint today is the finest crossbow manufacturer on earth, and have always gone above and beyond in every issue I've ever had. That said I've never gone thru the company email. Always thru Randy Woods.

I'm not saying your wrong in what you did or how it broke, but generally the vast majority of crossbow issues are self inflicted hence why they take most things with a grain of salt.

For ex, people love to claim their crossbows just 'blew up' on them, but it's almost always because their nock was broke, or the arrow was broke hence leading to a dry fire of the bow.

When i was going through one of my crossbow phases I bought a tenpoint havoc and had issues right out of the gate with it. Their customer service was not good in my experience. That was my first and last tenpoint.

Sorry to read this. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the Mission Sub-1 series crossbows. I believe they have a lifetime warranty as well.
