Tether'd Predator Platform

Maybe one day they will make a few different sizes. I need one I can completely stand up on for layering. Glad I asked before I ordered Gen 2.

I have no problem completely standing on both the gen 1 and 2. I regularly change at height. Easy peasy

what's the difference between Gen1 and Gen 2 ? I guess I missed this

I’m not sure what you mean by completely stand up on. I stand on mine completely all the time. Here’s a picture from another thread comparing the xop to predator.

When it comes time for me to buy one, I may be looking used for a Gen 1

Don’t wait too long. They may turn into one of those ultralight rare gotta have items in the future. I’ve used mine a good bit this year. Has held my 290 well. The new one should be strong enough for two.

My XOP platform is larger than the one you are comparing. I have large feet and I wear big clown shoe rubber boots. A member just implied that he does not have room to stand up on the platform with both size 12 boots while layering clothing. My feet are larger and I need more room than most I imagine. I also sit and lean at funky angles so my feet are not always together pointing directly at the tree perfectly. The beefier Gen 2 sounds nice but I was just worried it might be too small. Plus I probably wouldnt receive it before Feb 28 season ender anyway. Excited to see what they create for next season though.

How many versions are there? Post #23 has less teeth where it contacts the tree than the Gen 1 in post #24

Post 23 has an XOP and predator. Post 24 has 1 generations of predators. I see only a weight difference

If you look at the predator in post #23 it has 3 teeth on each side of the post
post 24 has a gen 1 and gen 2
the gen 1 in post 24 has 4 teeth on both sides of the post

You must be a tiny fella. I can stand on my platform and change, but it definitely isn't "easy peasy". This is also one of my challenges when hunting from a platform. I need to be able to change in stand, specifically, to add clothing as needed. Yes, I was able to put pants and a jacket on, but I was standing up there pretty much unsecure for that time being. Yes, my saddle was around me but it wasn't buckled in the front due to the need of being able to pull my pants up.

I have been looking for a smaller platformed stand to use, I just having found one I have wanted yet.

If anyone is interested in trying it out, I would pay for about a #5 platform that was cast alumunum and was large enough to face away from tree and lean up against it. Tethrd, make it happen!

Totally doable. I can do that on my xop and its 6lbs with the big xop beam. I also like a bigger platform, xop is perfect size.

The post 23 has less teeth. That was a pre production model. The fourth tooth on each side was a last minute change. All of the predator platforms are the same size.

Not small, but not big. 5'9" 220 lbs. I've done it at 240 lbs. Size 11 boots. I can stand easily. Spin and Shoot. No problems.

I agree with Kenn above. you may want to try the seat mods. you can do everything from the XOP/LW alpha seat to the an elite seat if you need more real estate.

Put your pants on while on the ground. Jacket is not a problem at all and should not effect your ability to be "tied in"

Im just curious about foot room. I wear a 13 rubber boot that doesnt leave too much room on my xop platform which I believe is a larger area than the Predzeez.

Hell of a lot more room on the platform them pegs or ameristeps

I've had mine since September and haven't used it yet. I primed and painted it, put some stick on fleece type stuff on some areas. I had spots set up already and didn't want to change them. But I will be using it next season as my friends in SC and Ga have it and say they won't hunt without a platform now.
