Tethrd Mini Versa Strap

Amsteel? You sure it’s not dyneema webbing. Amsteel is a dyneema rope manufactured by Samson.

I know it come right from Ernie Powers mouth that it was amsteel. I even said I had never seen a flat amsteel webbing like that to him. He may have misspoke but that's exactly what he told me multiple times.

Well I’m stumped then. Thanks for verifying/clarifying.

On a big tree, i'm talking bigger than you would want to hunt, you can pass the stick around the tree and grab it that way. That was the easiest way I found to combat that problem. You are right tho, it is so light there is no tossing it lol.
I've never been a stick guy so that shows my ignorance lol...taking the stick around the tree makes perfect sense!

It looks like this "UHMWPE webbing" daisy chain, but I haven't seen it in person to know for sure: https://www.weavertex.com/uhmwpe-webbing/uhmwpe-daisy-chain-hammock-straps.html

Speculating, because the pictures look pretty similar...
The linked item above is a 3/4 inch width, 1.6" loop size lightweight webbing. If it's the same stuff, the wholesale price was around $2/meter with a 1,000 meter minimum (plus shipping cost and wait from China). Now, if you sold that at just $1/foot you'd be making money on it, but you'd have to invest $2k in it and wait for delivery to do that, and I decided not to. I DOUBT it'll be just $1/foot when heavier versions are about .90/foot AND they're out of stock everywhere. Again, this is just speculating, but if this is what Tethrd is going to be offering, kudos on sourcing and investing it to make it available in reasonably priced amounts for the rest of us to consider :)

If the doublesteps.com woven daisy chain webbing comes back in stock any time soon we'll have more options and can pay for the lighter version if we want, and hopefully won't face out-of-stock situations as much.

How you guys like running versa strap on your predator? Been playing with them on sticks and loving it so far. Should have ordered a 5th. Versa mini works on a predator?

The woven daisy chain from Dutchware and Eastern Woods will not be back in stock afaik. This was sourced from a US company that decided to stop making it. EW will have a 1" sewn polyester and will also be selling the 3/4" UHMWPE woven daisy chain. I'll be interested in the overall breaking strength and the loop breaking strength.

Me and @ckossuth messed with the Predator on several different trees with the mini versa and it actually worked awesome! Since it doesn't stretch it really lets the platform dig into the tree when you cam it over.

@Erniepower took some to the testing facility and if I remember right they couldn't break it at 1500 lbs on the loop lol. The stick will fail before the strap.

Will these negate the need for me to make amsteel daisy chains for my sticks? Already bought the amsteel but can always return it lol.

Yes. IMO, Amsteel rope daisy chains are a poor use of Amsteel. Webbing has more surface area to grip the tree and to me just works better. A rope mod is a close second. I just don't like Amsteel on tree bark.
