Tethrd One Climbing Step Intro

I watched this video the other day.. I just wish they’d take my money already!

I want one if it has a cam cleat and sewn aider only. Also I am not sure how much room there is for your foot with the short standoff.
The scout works well for a platform because the standoff is far from the tree

If I was carrying multiple sticks and no aiders they are a great product as advertised

When will they be available?

Releasing something then not having any to sell and no date of when you will have them to sell drives me absolutely insane.

Still heavier, bulkier, and pricier than squirrelsteps.

But for sticks they look pretty nice.

Bulkier and more expensive sure but heavier.... I don’t think so. One stick is equivalent to 2 squirrel steps and 2 OCBs. Squirrel steps are probably actually heavier, double the straps, slower to ascend and more fiddle factor.

1 squirrelste + ocb is about 9 ounces. I space them at 24 in, so 2 squirrelsteps (18 oz) are equivalent to 1.4 one sticks (16*1.4=22.4 ounces)

Only heavier if you're a midget. And 2 ocbs are no more fiddle than 1.4 cleatwraps and probably quicker.

Here's my math take on it. Starting from ground is 24"+24" for your 2 steps, and you should be able to step 24" to bottom of stick, so that's 24"+17" for the stick length.

So, 48/41=1.17

So, you get 117% of the height for 140% of the weight (going off your 1.4).

If you throw in a simple CAYG aider, then you can space your sticks out 48" and it makes a big difference. Once you practice with a CAYG, it adds like 2 minutes to your total climb. With 4 of the One sticks, I could easily get over 20 feet (probably 25 feet) using an aider. I know you can use aider with steps though, just doesn't seem as stable and easy to handle to me.

On fb someone asked for availability, and they said 1-2 weeks and that question was a week ago

Tbh I doubt I'll get them for the season. I'll try my best but I'm not holding my breath. My beasts will likely have to do

Welcome to Saddle Hunter Marketing 101! Next week we'll discuss the science behind shaving weight off your climbing setup and applying it directly to the front of your arrows.

Remember to bring a sharpened no.2 pencil! Unless, of course... a no.1 weighs less :D

I agree - in general you need to use an aider for short sticks to make sense. (And the 1.17 factor would be equal weight)

And truth be told - first stick can be 40 in off of the ground even without an aider. You can make a lightweight system from sticks, but aiders are kind of necessary.

I personally never climb very high, Right now I’m around 10’ off the ground via (2) 30” Heliums Without an aider. I plan on getting a set of these when they become available cause they’ll cut my stick weight in half and should give me the same height.

For one sticking I use my scout for a platform. I am not sure how this stick from Tethrd will be to use as a platform.

Eight or three inches between the tree and platform edge. I will likely buy one to try

It will be fine with a JX 3 but not likely with my other saddles

I would have to carry a scout too
