Has anyone here heard if Tethrd will have their Tethrd One stick 3-pack back in stock before their sale is over? Just purchased my first saddle, watching a bunch of Youtube videos and now I'm dying to get my hands on a set of these sticks. Really want to take advantage of this sale! (I did turn their email notifications on)

You should do some more research on sticks on this forum and see if those are the sticks you would still want to use.

I've been reading quite a bit and I definitely want to use sticks rather than any other climbing method. From what I see, they are the lightest high end sticks, they have 2 sided steps, the most stability, and they come with the amsteel cables and the dynalock button (which is the biggest thing for me because it would allow for the fastest climbing.) I am very sure I want these sticks, especially if they're on sale!

Put 3 single sticks in your shopping cart. The 3 pack discount will come out when you go through the check out process.

“3 pack discount
Adding 3 single ONE sticks to the cart will automatically apply the 3 pack discount to your order. Buy 3 sticks and save $30.”

In your research did you come across the issue with the glued on steps that some are reporting?

As far as weight, there are others options at same or within a few ounces.

I did see that issue. I suppose it's a weighted issue for me between the negative of that glue issue and the positive of the dynalock button. It doesn't seem like the steps will totally fail or fall off from what I've seen, but rather that they might just get a little loose over time right? It looks to me like the steps are held in with a pin and glue.

I’m not sure the long term effects. My first thought is that it will end up wallowing the tube hole. Some of the metal heads on the site may chime in with a better explanation.

On the bright side, it’s been reported they are working on a fix, but what that entails is a mystery.

I stood on one at the meet up the other day. I didn't think they were bad. Didn't think they were the end all choice for sticks. But they won't let you back order? Seems strange...

How is the dynalock button held on? I've never seen these in person or really considered them an option for my personnel use but if the "chemical weld" holding the step on has failed, what's holding the dynalock button in place?

It appears that it is also a pin and maybe some glue? I can see a pin in the pictures of the sticks on the website. I can not imagine that they could legally claim the sticks to have a 300 lb rating (although they say it's over 500 but they can't advertise that for legal reasons) if they were actually held together with just glue/ chemical bonding agent.

There is a pin/rivet on the back of the tube that helps secure the dynalock tab. I would also imagine that it is glued like the step is. I have stood on one and was not thrilled with the foot room, but several other features of them. Are they the holy grail of sticks: no, but with a few improvements could they possibly be the best stick on the market: I think so.

Just get these from me and be done with it. You won’t beat my sale.........

After reading all the bad reviews I decided to buy a set of 3 just to confirm they are terrible sticks :tearsofjoy: , im glad I took advantage of their sale, in my opinion the lightweight highly outweighs the comfort level of the stand off's while climbing, the sticks spend more time on my back then on my feet anyway, I also thought that my LWCG double steps were much louder out of the box, if lightweight is at the top of your priority its hard to beat the tethrd one sticks.

So far I like them. I don’t care for the way they stack. I may just push out the top pins and use a bungee to hold it together.

That's what I did. I removed the pins and I use a gear tie to hold them together. They system a much quieter now that Im not trying to stack them using the pin system.

I ended up buying them. The worst thing about them by far is the stacking. It's impossible to even do it, let alone in the dark. I will probably be switching to a gear tie as well.
