curious if theres anything that can be done to limit the wear\noise with the predator platform level screw and the post where it stops. ive wrapped that area with hockey tape and camo form wrap but it still makes decent noise if i let it and rubs deep into the aluminum of the post.

There are many different things people have done. I simply cut a piece of an old bicycle tire tube and wrapped it around the post. I added a one inch piece of tubular webbing underneath the tubing, where the screw hits it. Easy fix and no noise.
 
When I was hunting off the Predator I hockey taped a chunk of a tongue depressor stick to the post in the screw contact area. It lasted about a season before I needed to replace it.
 
I just bought a used Predator platform online that should be here later this coming week. Didn't know about the 'issue' being discussesd here, but will look for it when it arrives. I bought it to use with some preset sticks so I can go in quick and quiet for morning hunts. Is it an issue once the platform is cinched on a tree?

nah, its only an issue if you arent careful and really let it hit the post

Thanks~ I hunted with a TL EDP platform that I really like, but use that as the core of my mobil hunting setup. I got some Muddy Pro sticks on sale in December with the goal of using them as pre-sets in '24 and the Predator platform will make it just that much more convenient.
 
i bought the predator with the idea i would upgrade it later with something like the rzr 2.0 but so far im really digging it and with my latitude sticks its the perfect mobile setup.
 
I put a piece of stealth tape on the post and then some athletic tape over that and it's pretty quiet as long as you don't drop the platform.
 
My used Predator platform arrived this afternoon in the mailbox and it has some scarring on the main upright from the leveling bolt. Not too bad, but I can see what folks are concerned about. I cleaned it with isopropyl alcochol and cut a 1x1" piece of adhesvie backed velcro....the stiff or hook side and put it over the contact area. Then I double wrapped the head of the adjuster bolt with black duct tape. I plan to practice with it this spring/summer and see how it holds up. My TL EDP is still my #1 platform for mobile hunting, as the Predator was purchased to go along with pre-set sticks for quick entry hunts. Once it warms up outside, I plan to do some sponge painting over the existing rattle can effort and wrap the outer perimeter in camo paracord to deaden boot noise.

I've hunted off a predator for 4 years and don't have any issue with the screw in post

is it possible that some of this is caused by using a cam strap?

i didn't find the cam strap stayed super tight because the strap stretches a little under your body weight

i use an amsteel daisy chain with a trucker's hitch and the platform never moves or makes any noise at all once cammed over, the amsteel doesn't stretch (well it does but like a micrometer or something)

I have a PSH Amsteel unit from Vital Ground that I bought for the EDP platform and field tested once this past fall. I;m sure it is a matter of getting more used to it, but the cam strap got it tighter with less play. If a daisy chain with truckers hitch gets it really snug, I will buy some 3/16" Amsteel and make a DIY daisy chain for the Predator.
 
I agree, after using Amsteel for a season(daisy chain or USA Pro) a cam strap is way too loose/sloppy to go back.

i haven't tried a PSH

I know that a daisy chain in a trucker' hitch is superbly tight (sometimes to the point where you have to loosen it a bit to even cam it over)

i only use 1/8", it is incredibly strong, especially in a daisy chain because you are doubling it

i have never once thought it might break, but that is personal and also i'm always tethered (not just lineman's) when on it or getting on/off
