Scott F knows how, he has an old one like that. He mentions it in his DIY DaveT1963 replica post.

Yup, I have one similar to his but his looks like one of those new fandangled ones with a motor!

Google image some of them and see what model number you have. You should be able to download the manual from there. It is necessary unless someone can tell you how to use it in person.

PM me your address and I can send you my manual, it may help.

Has a serial number that was all i could find. Fixed problem. Wife is bringing me her mothers new one that a caveman could use. I was on youtube watching vids and they lost me at threading bobbin.

New machines might not have the uumph to sew webbing. The one you got there has steel gears and housing. All machines have bobbins. Wanna drive yourself crazy, thread a serger machine.

To ID that sewing machine, use this flowchart:

http://www.sandman-collectibles.com/id- ... chines.htm

Looks like a 201 or 15-91, but I am not sure. Either way it is probably waaaay better, once setup, than a newer sewing machine!

If you're serious about making some gear, bring it to a sewing shop and have them tune it up. Nothing more frustrating than learning on a broken machine.

Love your response to the word harvest!!!!!! Harvest is definitely for crops and you kill deer.

Another one of my pet pievs that drives me crazy is hunters everywhere calling antlers, horns. Deer, Elk, Moose, Muley's, Stag, etc. shed and grow antlers every year and they are not horns. Animals like cows, antelope, sheep, wildebeest, rhino's, etc. grow horns that never shed and just keep growing.

Thats right john. Guys the machine i think is a 66-16. Just tryn to figur out this bobbin thing. I figured out how to spool it. Then i figured ou you need to put in in circle under needle. Slowly i am getting there. Also my plan was for my rigid seat to ride mid back with magnets. The magnets i bought came in and are about 5lbs. Brainstorming diff ideas now.

FYI I saw those tiny super magnets at home depot the other day. Don't know if they work for your idea or not.

Hmmm have to look into those see how much pull they have. Thx

One sewing machine tip... Don't adjust the bottom bobbin tension unless you have a problem and have been through literally every solution multiple times. It's a total pain to get it right.

There is a GREAT article on adjusting the thread tension on bobbins on Ray Jardine's website.
This is the method that I used because my 1935 sewing machine's instructions were tough to understand.

Oh, and I totally concur - messing with this is a pain in the rear.
