The best Mid weight pants.

Bought my 2 pair this year. Really like them for a warmer pant. Been wearing them hunting on those 30-60 degree days. Just got back from a weeklong snowboarding trip and they were perfect with a thin wool baselayer. Didn't get too cold/hot the whole trip. Temps were low teens in the morning up to about 30.
 
Midweight you could look at Black ovis granitepeak pants, the kuiu attack pants are good as well. The timberlines are nice with the waterproof knees and seat.
The kutana pants are a louder material so I sold mine.
 
For mid weight hunting pants I wear Scentlok Windbrace. They are wind proof and work for me in temp ranges from 65-40. They have a hard side type outer weave that I find to be fairly tear resistant; those little cocklebur things still stick to them but thorns seems to slide right off and they’re easy to pull off with a brush or comb.
 
I am very intrigued with Code of Silence right now. My buddy dumped his sitka for it. It’s a little cheaper right now and could be a good buy.
 
1) Good synthetic hiking pant. Lots out there. Something like FL sawbuck if you need briar busting capability. More needs to be done with durability in that regard, a lot of the market is yoga pant shreddable garbage. Trying Kuiu Katana line next. Patagonia made a prefect pant called the field pant but it's discontinued. Hip vents can be nice bit I find them a bit extra as in not necessary. Personal preference.

2) Add merino longjohns if it's cold. That turns your light hiker into a midweight simple as that.

3) Add a down or synthetic puffy overpant if it's really cold and mostly, you're stationary.

Lower half systems aren't nearly as complicated as upper and extremities, it's really that simple. Spend your money and brainpower elsewhere. I could hunt in shorts like that survivor guy if my core and extremities are proper like that one survivor guy.

I tried the kutana’s but I didn’t care for the fit. Too tight in the thighs and I’m skinny. The material, though noisy, seemed good for brush bashing.
 
Id say if you’re not as active and want dead silent - the badlands rise pant (or any fleece pant)

If your active and want durability, kuiu attack pant is hands down the best hunting pant out there imo. Or the guide pant if you want something warmer. I layer under both depending on my situation and weather. It is a quiet pant. Noisier than fleece (as any pant would be), but i have no problems with noise from it hunting whitetails up close. I saw you tried they kutanas - they are louder and agree fit was weird.
 
I’m biased as I work with HuntWorth. But the Elkins pants have been a phenomenal piece for me in the temps you reference.

These are my favorite pants. Wear silk weight in fall to prevent the itching and up the thermal thickness once it gets below freezing.

I just got their verdigre series in, but by the time I received them our weather got too cold for them. I'm anxious to try them out though.

I wear FL Corrugate Guides or Foundry mid to late season. I add base layer under then top with UA down pants if needed at the stand.

Heavy weight pants for an active style of hunting just doesn't work for me. You are self defeating trying to stay warm if you are sweating on the way in. Even a 1/2 mile walk in I get hot (and I run cold and don't sweat much). Layering works, you just need the right stuff. At the end of the day you end up with a more useful clothing spread and you don't end up with a full "early season", "mid season" and "late season" setup.
