Was listening to a the hunting public podcast today and they said something they were going to change this year is switching to saddles. Just thought that was kind of cool. Love their YouTube videos if you haven't seen them they do a good job

I’ve been watching them since they were with Midwest Whitetail. They’re the best hunting show out there right now.

“Hunting in the South” podcast guys plan to use a saddle as well this year (Mantis). I Have heard saddle hunting mentioned on several podcast this year.

I believe we’re on the verge of a saddle explosion in the hunting world.

Would be curious to know how many new members have joined The Saddle Hunting Forum over the past couple of years.

Yup I think @jryser was working on them pretty hard to give it a try. If they do make the switch, @g2outdoors and @Erniepower bette hold on because sales are going to shoot through the roof from the exposure
.
Would be cool to have an guest spot from @g2outdoors and @Erniepower on their youtube channel and interview each other on their respective podcasts. I think it would be a "win-win" situation.

Yep we will be using them this year on THP. I was using my TL before I started writing the music for Midwest Whitetail. And with MW we had sponsors to please and you know how that goes. When THP started I moved my music writing with them Bc I had been doing 90% of my stuff for and with Aaron and Greg - especially for turkeys and Aaron WAS the turkey show; Greg WAS the quality deer videos and I loved doing violin and more “epic” stuff for him.

When THP came to stay with me at ATA this year we got to check out the saddles and I decided then and there I was done with lock ons and back to the saddle world again.

Keep an eye out Bc we will be using em in KY - at least I will be (I’m playing camera guy there!).

PS - thanks for supporting THP - they are my favorite group of guys in the world and nothing makes me happier than learning from them, working with them, and cheering for them. Connecting them to The Tethrd Nation was a natural thing to do, and they are friends with ALL saddle hunters!!

I love the videos THP have been putting out. Can't wait to see some saddle hunting in their videos. The way they hunt, I think saddles will be a great fit.

Mark on wired to hunt mentioned he is waiting on a saddle too. Same for THP. THP is such a great show, can't wait for the whitetail animal tour

Agree its one of my favorite you tube channels, always new good content and they keep trying new techniques instead of the same old setups. Really enjoy their hunt analysis showing how they setup and entered public lands, dont see anyone else doing that.

THP is the of the few "shows" out there that is relatable to me. I mainly hunt public land and watching shows/videos of guys passing 160" deer to get a 190" over highly managed ground does nothing for me as a hunter. They might as well be filming from Mars because there is nothing on MI public land that resembles those types of shows.
These guys are out to educate their viewers and I have learned a TON from them! Saddle hunting would fit their style of hunting perfectly! Can't wait for this years tour!

Stay tuned for the next episode of the saddlehunter podcast. I make go off on a rant on a similar topic. Growing up and hunting in the northeast anything you see on most hunting shows is completely un-relatable to me as well.

Amen to that! I believe in herd management, but reality for the average hunter like us is, fill the freezer and enjoy nature. I love the thrill of large antlers as much as the next guy, but I’m not in a position to let a 150” walk by me. I love THP guys, real life approach.

I remember joining and reading every post. It wasn’t that many. SaddleHunter was pretty new. I think we got more new members last week than they had total when I joined! Lol. Seems like everyday there are 5 intro post of new members.

I'm in no position to pass 100" deer lol.
Many of the ones I see that size are 4.5+ and pushing 200 pounds dressed.

I’m glad they are gettin in saddles! They inspired me to be more mobile after watching them last year. They didn’t introduce me to saddles but led me to seek out a lightweight option. Saddles seem so well suited to y’alls style of hunting at THP.

What general area of KY are y’all gonna hunt? If I’m near I’d love to help drag a deer out!

Totally agree. The Northeast is a different place. Very rewarding when it comes together but very difficult hunting.
