Well, I'm up and dressed. Coffee is brewing. It was a fitfull night to say the least. Yep, you guessed it. Shot a nice 7pt last night, hit in the shoulder. Tracked for 6 or 700 yds till we lost blood. Headed back this morning to see if I can pick his trail up. Man do I hate these kind of nights. Replaying the shot in my head over and over.

Hope it works out for ya. I know the feeling, it's crappy. Good luck. Sending good karma your way.

Any blood tracking dogs in your area? Check united blood trackers website. Invaluable resource.

Are you sure it was a shoulder shot? I've never seen one bleed enough to follow for 6 or 700 yards? maybe it was a better shot than you think
good luck I hope you find him

Well, I went back yesterday and spent the day. Never cut a new track or new blood beyond where we lost it. Walked a creek up and down both sides for close to a half mile. Gonna say its not a fatal hit and move on. Bummer tho

At least your gave it your all. It happens to everyone as some
Point. Get back on the tree and knock one down.

Hate that for you, most all of have all been there and feel your pain. Send a few good shots down the practice range and get back after them.
Thats what I did. I let 3 young bucks walk this morning, the biggest being a 1.5y/o 6pt. He had a doe with him....so I took her. Arrow went where I wanted and she died within 65yds.
