The most comfortable saddle

My recon is pretty comfy but i feel sizing is off. Im a 33-34 jean. I have small recon. Never feel like i have enough strap to separate them as far as i want so one is at lumbar and other is under butt. I can walk in with it no problem. Stays cinched tight. I know thats a common complaint. Would love to try a regular size or maybe trade.

I'm around the same waist size and got the regular. My only issue is that I almost run out of adjustment on the waist belt in order to cinch it tight. If you bought it new I'd email Mark and he'll probably let you exchange it. I may try the bungee belt mod.

Is the XC $100ish extra more comfortable than the Recon in your opinion?

Yes absolutely! I realized over the years the more surface area you can support with your saddle the more comfortable you will be. I’m 6’ 195lbs with a 34” waist. I had a small Recon I wanted to love it but after an hour or so I was constantly adjusting it. So I ordered the size 3 Cruzr for the extra support and now I can sit all day and not fidget, adjust, move etc. I open both pleats and sit motionless, the longest sit I had this year was 12 hours and when I got down no pain. All other saddles I would be sore right after getting down. I highly recommend it.

$100 is kind of irrelevant at some point. (Like this year…..I was on a two-week, out of state vacation. I was alternating between the saddle and a hang on stand. Second day of all-day sits in the saddle, was continually moving my bridge and tether, fighting hip pinch - it was a big problem. Said “screw it” and ordered a new saddle while sitting 22’ in the air. Normally I’d consider price as a factor, but at that point, it didn’t matter!)

No, but when fully extended it goes from the small of my back all the way down the the middle of my thighs. No need for a back band and no webbing pinching you at the hips. I have no hot spots…none. It’s really an awesome design!
