The official Coffee Thread.

My thermos.
A French press and grinder.
whole bean fair trade organic coffee.
travel mug.

im amazed to see how many of you live in urban and suburban places! When I head out in the morning for a local hunt I don’t pass a single store. If I’m traveling longer distances it’s VERY rare anything I pass is open and if it is it’s a gas station with overpriced mediocre coffee. For those long drives I carry a travel mug full of home brew for the ride and a thermos of coffee for the woods.

if coffee prices keep rising im considering going to one cup a day and supplementing the rest with black tea.

I certainly don’t live out in the sticks, but you better know your options when you head certain directions. I had buddy come down to fish and before we got to the ramp he asked if we were still on earth, lol

Salt? Interesting. Lot or just a little? Seen guys shake some salt in their beer. But never coffee...
Once upon a time saltwater coffee was traditional on ships. I don't think they really do that any more. Not straight seawater; the desalination equipment a few generations ago didn't work as well as the modern stuff, so all of the potable water was a bit salty. Also, salt can mask burnt/bitter/bad/old coffee.

Man. Now that the price of coffee seems to continue to climb. Bumping this back up. Anyone adjusting what they are doing? Very rarely do I stop to get a coffee any more. Seems I just buy what's on sale at the store.
Anyone else adjust there habit?

Not really, my wake-up routine for years has always included making a pot of coffee. We use a 5-cup half-size setup that fills my 20oz Kleen Kanteen mug, with a few ounces left over for my breakfast shake. We mostly get Cameron's Coffee, but watch for sales. You might laugh but Menards can have some decent coffee prices, especially during the 11% rebate seasons. Also get Good & Gather (Target store brand), 8 O'Clock, Dunkin, and a few others. Sometimes the local grocery stores put out discount bins with past-due non-perishable items like coffee beans and crackers and mac-n-cheese, which is why I have 3 bags of holiday roast beans on the shelf.
