For what you're doing with it, the inner tube is probably indestructible.

I wonder... I'm not sure what they're called, the inflator bulbs on a blood pressure cuff... could one of those be hooked up to an inner tube, so you can inflate/deflate it? Maybe deflate it to pack it smaller, or to adjust inflation for comfort.
Maybe a small compact bicycle pump? That would work if you could get one small enough.

Grandson tagged his first deer this past season from the Ghostblind.

Awesome. Is there a ghost hunter holding that rifle too? Man things have come a long way....I shot my first shaking like a banshee holding a remington 870 pump .410 with slugs with open sites.... Congrats to your grandson, nice deer!!!!

Crocs are the best spot and stalk shoe....change my mind

I finally bought a pair of Crocs after years of hating on them (mostly silently). First thing I thought after putting them on today was... Dang these are comfy, why didn't I buy some sooner. Got em in camo because it adds stealth points (and was cheaper than the solid colors for some reason)

Wasn't sure if I should post this here or the no shame thread, but I may give em a go as early season footwear, in 4wd mode

Cheaper because the only thing that makes you less sexually desirable than crocs is camo crocs

I bought 2 pair of Crocs when they were on sale.for 25 each. The first pair is about ready for retirement. Once that new pair is worn out I think I'm over Crocs too. Nuusol looks like a nice alternative. We will never hear the end of it from tailgunner cause they made in Oregon

I’ve worn out numerous pairs of crocs since they came out and wear them almost everyday. That said, I can’t stand paying how much they cost. I want to know how the Walmart ones work out. I did try to hunt in a pair of llbean moccasins once, I think they were made for house shoes. Not a good idea, I felt every twig and rock and climbing a ladder stand was excruciating.

I’ve been wearing a pair of Walmart off brand crocs for at least 3 years. Usually use them as indoor/outdoor slippers. They work great really. Wore them in and around the lake several times. They float really well so you won’t lose them.

Couple downsides would be your feet tend to sweat in them pretty bad after a while in hot weather and I wouldn’t recommend walking over sharp sticks. Have had a couple poke through the bottom here and there. Otherwise well worth the $12 or whatever they were.

I have a pair of them as well. The Rugged Shark brand. Fine for what you said. I wear them around the house to take the dog out and what not. Wouldn’t wear them much longer than that because they cause hot spot on my feet.

Years ago I saw a guy bow hunting that has some sort of fleece covers on his boots. He said they were bear paws or bear claws, something like that. He said they were amazing for still hunting and walking in and out of the woods. You could wear boots but the covers muffled the footsteps. Anyone ever heard of anything like that?

The ones I am familiar with are sneektec, but there are a few brands out there. Always been curious but kicking off my shoes and using a thick pair of socks has worked well for me. Remi Warren calls it a "shoes off situation"

Pros: EASY, simplistic it’s the bees knees it’s just easy to set up near any tree or something to your back. If you’re really good you can creep closer in some instances.

cons are huge though: you’re on the deers level and you lose the higher viewpoints it can really complicate things if you’re not smart and you’re on the ground when a deer is within 25 yds or so.

Yeah hunting on the ground can work well for some situations but you really can’t get away with any movement. I missed a few opportunities last year for that reason. I think even just one or two sticks high is advantageous.

The sneaktec stalk socks look like the ones I was referring to. Thanks for pointing those out. I did take my socks off last November and stalked within bow range of a doe. I didn’t shoot her and it took about 12 hours for the feeling to get back to my feet.

Could there be large large enough socks out there to slip over one's boots?

Here are the stalking products I know about - not used any of these.
