Here in Maine we dont use the term scammer...this person is a THIEF use caution i belive he uses different phone numbers or has a partner

I'm sorry to hear this. We were notified that he was a scammer on Saturday and he was banned from the site. I hope he didn't get through to anyone else :(
 
I blame myself for deviating from protocols i have in place . Too bad this happens and especially at Christmas time. But what i have found is that bad karma will fall upon people like this which will eventually lead to them 6 ft under
 
Ugh!! Sorry to hear. There is a special place for people like that. I truly believe they get it in the end one way or another.

I ban the account but get flagged if they try to register with the same IP. Unfortunately most of them are masking their IPs anyway, they bounce around all over the country and even world.
 
Is there way we can leave feedback for people so it can help distinguish good buyers and sellers?

I think a few years ago, Archerytalk put a ranking system in their classifieds. I would love to do that here.

im not sure what good that would do. All of the scammers are brand new members with no post history, therefore they would have no sales/rating history either. We have essentially zero issues with our active members which are the only ones that would have any rating in a system like that.

I can agree to a certain extent with that. But it would help give new members some credibility with other potential buyers. I am a new member and have sold a couple of things on here already and it would probably help a potential buyer feel more confident.
 
If it’s not a familiar member, you should always check their post count. If it’s low your at risk.

From what I’ve seen on other forums, they usually go after you when you post a WTB AD.

I’m pretty sure this guy tried to con me also. I posted a Wtb ad for a predator pack, specifically for a original size predator platform.

He sent me a pic of one he wanted $100 for with upgraded straps, but it was for a Xl platform. I checked his post count and never continued the conversation.

I should have called him out and will in the future. Just be aware of post counts.

Wtb ads are risky for the buyer for sure.
 
I think what put me off my game was that usually they tell you to email a buddy but this person sent a pm with pictures and asked for venmo and i just didnt pay attention
